Happy hour (12:30-6pm everyday) at the bar review. The drinks were practically free! Well, $4 for beers and $5 for flavored margaritas. The drinks were large and flavorful – surprisingly good was the tamarind one which was flavored with Indian spices (like masala tea is flavored, although IDK exactly which spices). The tandoori chicken ($10, a drum and a thigh?) was juicy and delicious. The tasty chili paneer ($8) was a stir-fry with red and green peppers. The biggest disappointment was the deep fried chicken wings ($10, 3 PCs), which had barely any flavor and overpriced for what you get as most places are $2 +/- a wing. Off the regular menu, we ordered garlic chili naan ($6) which was fluffy and had a kick but I couldn’t discern any garlic; I would get the regular naan next time. The bar was half full on a Thursday 5pm visit. Feb 2026

The restaurant was great, very clean , and cozy. Our servers were Prat and Shankar who were very pleasant and friendly . The food was placed and served in good time frame , on top of that it was so flavorful and delicious. Out leftovers were packed away with great care as well. We will definitely come back again.

The food is richly spicy (as in taste), perfectly balanced in terms of heat (spiciness), and elegantly presented! The ambiance is perfect – you feel relaxed and removed from the Times Square bustle! Sri and Prat were very attentive and patient in explaining the dishes and our options! Overall, it was a memorable dining experience – one that I’d love to experience again while different items on the menu!

I recently dined at this Indian restaurant and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious every dish was full of authentic flavors, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the freshness and quality in every bite.

The mocktails were just as impressive! They were creative, refreshing, and perfectly balanced — easily some of the best I’ve ever had. They complemented the food so well and made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.

What really stood out was the service. The staff was warm, attentive, and incredibly welcoming. They made sure we were comfortable, checked in at the right times, and gave great recommendations.

My friend took me to Saar for dinner and I love it. The restaurant is so beautiful. Their customers service is outstanding. The food was delicious and their cocktails were very good. We tried different dishes and all of them were good. Lots of vegetarian options. Alisha our waitress was magnificent. She recommended us very good appetizer and cocktails. She was friendly and attentive. All of the staff were very good. The owner came to check on us and made sure we were having a good time. If you like Indian food or are vegetarian you need to check this place. I definitely recommend it and we’ll be back.

There are a lot of great Indian restaurants in New York, but you can stop your search here because this is THE SPOT!

Most importantly- the food is served hot/fresh with amazing flavors. They put effort into the presentation, which is always appreciated. The menu is substantial, but small enough to maintain a high standard. You can tell these are dishes from a Michelin-star chef because the flavors are so balanced, and not over-salted. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious!

It’s not a “budget” restaurant, but it also isn’t an insanely-priced cash grab, and they’re delivering an excellent value for your money.

The vibe is lovely. The colors and decor create a nice ambience without being overwhelming. They were playing modern songs at a comfortable volume- think Arijit Singh, AR Rahman, etc. Seating was comfortable without feeling crowded.

TBH, I often find service lacking in Indian restaurants, but the staff here was so friendly and attentive! They cleared our dishes and refilled our water as needed. They checked in throughout the meal, and genuinely seemed to care that we were enjoying ourselves. They make every table feel like a VIP table, and this creates an exceptional dining experience!

Amazing food! Afan was a great host

If you’re looking for incredible Indian food in NYC, Saar Indian is a must. We tried the lamb chops crafted by their Michelin-star chef, and honestly… they were unreal. Perfectly seasoned, tender, and full of flavor — definitely the highlight of the night.

We also had the paneer and the shrimp tikka, and both were amazing. The paneer was super soft with the perfect balance of spices, and the shrimp tikka had that smoky, rich flavor you only get when it’s done right. The garlic naan was 10/10 and there were lots of vegetarian options!!

The drinks were just as impressive — refreshing, well-balanced, and the perfect match for the food.

Overall, everything exceeded expectations. Incredible food, great vibes, and a spot we’re definitely coming back to. Highly recommend! ️
