Our family’s roots come from southwest Germany in Saarland, where the famous currywurst is a popular street food with their own twist – a tangy curry ketchup sauce smothered over sliced bratwurst and paired with French fries. And who doesn’t love a schnitzel. Hand tenderized, breaded and fried pork cutlet amazing as a sandwich or paired with unique sides such as kase spaetzle (Germany’s version of mac and cheese), red cabbage, or refreshing cucumber salad. Unique flavors that won’t disappoint!

Saar Imbiss is an absolute gem in Post Falls. The food is incredibly flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care—every bite tastes authentic and satisfying. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the menu has something for everyone, whether you’re trying German food for the first time or already love it. On top of that, the staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for something unique and delicious in the area, Saar Imbiss is a must-try. We’ve gotten food at this location four times now and it has always been fantastic. The Schnitzel is terrific, the sausage plates are terrific. As far as the sides, we normally get the spaetzle and the German potato salad which are excellent. The curry sauce that he makes is fantastic as well. My father and I enjoy this place immensely. Try it out, we love it and I believe you will too!

Not sure what negative Goldilocks was talking about on a previous review but this place is incredible. Fantastic food that will leave you craving more. Friendly staff and delicious food earns five stars in my book. I’ve had it in person and delivered. It arrived hot and fresh every time. The cleanliness of the kitchen, taste of the food, friendliness of the staff, absolute 10/10.

I got the Schnitzel Plate with German Red Cabbage and Käse Spätzle.
My husband got the Currywurst & Pommes.
And we both got the Christmas Tea. It was all delicious. Everything had the perfect spices and flavor combinations.
It did take some time for the food to be ready, but it was worth the wait. They are fairly new so maybe they will get quicker with time?
I will be back and prefer them over Bier Haus in CDA.

We ordered online with door dash. We were really excited to try the food as we both enjoy German food. We were disappointed. Both of us had a bratwurst sandwich with selected add ons. Nothing exceptional. Very little sauerkraut, I had added mayo and it was way too much my husband added deli mustard and it was the same. It ruined the sandwich we both had to scrape it off. Your German potato salad was dry and no flavor. Your purple cabbage was way too sweet. These items are very traditional foods and you totally missed it. Plus everything was cold when we received it. Not a door dash thing as we live close and the whole timing from order to receiving our meal was less then a half hour maybe 20 min. It seemed like it was all reheated food and no one reheated it. I had to reheat everything including the fries. Very disappointing.

The Bratwurst plate I got with 2 sides was SO GOOD. The cucumber salad and the Kase spatzle are what I got for sides and I 10/10 recommend.
