First time in tonight.
The atmosphere was lovely. Our server was a gem, she gave us recommendations and checked on us often.
The spicy pimento cheese dip was amazing! My entree was suggested by our server. The goat cheese ravioli add shrimp. It was absolutely amazing!!!! My husband had the crab crusted walleye with broccolini. This was also flavor filled and delicious! We will definitely be back many more times

One of the best places we’ve eaten in a long time. We found it on “Find Me Gluten-free”. Portions are huge and delicious. I can’t wait to try the other gluten free items on the clearly marked menu.

This was my first time and I would say the last… The main issue is the food quality which doesn’t match the price tag… I don’t mind spending 40$ for the entire but it needs to be extraordinary… 4 of us ordered completely different dishes and all of them were kind of mediocre… lacking seasoning and flavor. We did wait for our food to arrive maybe 40min… so i am all for the scratch kitchen but you guys need to do better on either dropping the cost or improving on execution of the food. The place was very busy on Saturday evening so maybe it’s just kitchen nightmares going on…

Absolutely fantastic. Visiting from NYC and we were all blown away. First the cocktails are perfect, then the service is incredible attentive and knowledgeable, not to mention friendly. Very accommodating to allergies and requests. All the food was outstanding, notably the calamari, meatballs, flatbread, walleye, and sweet corn carbonara— spectacular! Best spot in Mason. Highly recommended!

This is our “Go To” restaurant for any/all GF eating experiences! The food is 2nd to none, the staff know there stuff, and the specials are always a crowd favorite! Small town restaurant with big city atmosphere! Somewhat Casual but with a Formal feel!

This is a hidden gem! It doesn’t look like a fancy restaurant from the outside being in a strip mall. It has a very pleasing and pretty atmosphere, with a large bar to sit around also. . The service was fantastic as were the food and drinks! Glad we were told about this restaurant! Wish we had known about it sooner! We will definitely be back!

We had the crab crusted walleye and filet mignon. The fish was great, just oversalted and portion size was too small (not the fish but the steak and the broccolini). I thought the filet mignon was perfect, but the mashed potatoes were too mushy for my liking and had a strange taste to it. The meringue was amazing though. It was different but delicious. Would definitely give this one a second try

We walked in on a Tuesday night and sat at the bar. The place was cute on the inside, albeit a little dark. The bar stools were very comfortable, but sit low to the bar (I’m 5’9” and I even felt low in the stool). We were greeted right away and asked our names, but both ladies behind the bar never offered up their names. That is one pet peeve we have while dining out.

We started with the Tahona and Botanist Butterfly cocktails. Both were very well presented and good. We then ordered the seared Ahi Tuna appetizer. It looked a little messy when presented, and the lemon Tamari sauce and Yuzu ginger aioli totally overpowered the tuna with way too much acidity. Add on the pickled Fresno and wow! A lot for the delicate tuna. It is also touted as a cold dish, but was served in a very warm bowl that seemingly just came out of the dishwasher. In addition, we ordered the pork rinds because I love fresh pork rinds. The were seasoned well, but seemed they had been fried earlier and not to order because they were cold. But we still enjoyed them.

The pan seared salmon over ancient grains was good, except it lacked seasoning. We ordered it medium rare, and the chef cooked it perfectly. The sweet corn and tomato carbonara also lacked seasoning. The pasta was cooked well, and I loved the bits of charred corn and bacon, but there was hardly any basil. Even my leftovers the next day needed salt. Also, the tomato, cucumber, radish garnish is used on many of their dishes. That’s not a bad thing, but a universal garnish on many dishes lacks creativity on the chef’s part.

We would like to go back and try their fried chicken and burger.

We were here for a business meal. Due to our party size we reserved the private room which was nice. The restaurant has an overall great atmosphere and the service was good.

When booking the private room you have to choose a limited menu when making the reservation which leaves you with 4 dinner choices.

I got the fillet medallions which came with mashed potatoes and some sort of sauce on the plate. They were ok. They were cooked to order (medium rare) and the meat was good, but it lacked anything extra to make it amazing. The potatoes were also just run of the mill mashed potatoes. No garlic or any other seasoning that I could taste. It was all a bit underwhelming for the $50 per plate price.

We also ordered some appetizers which were quite good, namely, the cheddar scallion biscuits and calamari. Others in our group enjoyed their dishes and I saw plenty of clean plates for what’s worth.

I would be interested in trying this place again but with the full menu, there may be some better options than their steak.

Thank you for providing such detailed information about your experience at S. W. Clayborne Provision & Spirits. I’d be happy to help you write a review based on what you’ve shared. Here’s a draft review for you:

S. W. Clayborne Provision & Spirits – 4.5/5 stars

S. W. Clayborne Provision & Spirits is an upscale restaurant that lives up to its reputation. Despite being very busy, especially on weekends, the experience is well worth it.

Pros:
– Excellent food quality
– Attentive and professional service
– Ample parking
– Vibrant atmosphere

We visited on a Saturday and the place was packed. Thankfully, we had made reservations in the morning, securing a table for 4 at 7:45 PM. Tip: Book early to avoid disappointment.

The menu offers a variety of delicious options. We tried the calamari, Mediterranean chicken, catch of the day (blackened cod), and burger sandwich. All dishes were superb, with the chicken and cod standing out as particular favorites. The calamari came with slightly spicy peppers, which added a nice kick but might not suit those with milder palates.

Service was impeccable – attentive without being intrusive. The staff demonstrated excellent timing, knowing when to check on us and when to give us space.

While it’s on the pricier side (our bill came to just over $50 per person, including a glass of wine and tip), the quality of food and service justifies the cost.

Cons:
– Can be very busy, requiring advance reservations
– Some may find it slightly expensive

Overall, S. W. Clayborne Provision & Spirits offers a high-quality dining experience that’s well worth the visit. We’ll definitely be returning.
