Phenomenal food! Traveling across the country with my family and stopped here for dinner. Wednesday is the potato special and the reviews said to get that if you can above all else. My husband and I are in a food coma now. Need to drive another 4 hours but want to nap. The baked beans are out of this world! I want this recipe! As someone that eats bbq every chance I can, this was one of the best bbq places we have had.

I was traveling through on I70 and stopped and was thoroughly wowed! The burnt ends were very good. Pulled pork and ribs spoke for themselves without adding sauce. Great customer also.

Has great ribs…best in town! Brisket is a melt in your mouth wonder. I got no sides as I refuse to pay $24 for a pint of coleslaw. Bit the meats I got are worth the price.

The BEST barbecue sauces and turkey I’ve ever had! Their Raspberry Chipotle and Stupidasso (?! I think that was the name of their hottest BBQ sauce) sauce were phenomenonal. The turkey was so tender and juicy, busting with flavour. The size of the sides were small but I wasn’t hungry after. I had potato salad and fries; the former was alright, the latter was crisp and well seasoned.
The sauces were so good, I wanted to buy bottles of them which they sold in 16oz bottles. I highly recommend it. Their hottest sauce perfectly blends the heat of various chillies whilst still being able to taste them and the flavour of BBQ.
The fried Oreos made a good dessert too. They’re fried in doughnut batter, so are decadent.
The owners (the family) running it were so friendly and accommodating. 100% a must-eat in Kearney!

My fiancée and I spent the night in Kearney and decided to grab S.A.M. Que for dinner – we both got variations of the meat platters! Our meats included burnt ends, ribs, and pulled pork. My favorite sauce was the honey mustard – HIGHLY recommend on any of the meats we tried. Everything was delicious, including our sides.
My only qualm is that water isn’t free and you are not allowed to bring “personal beverage containers” which is plainly unacceptable.

We stopped by on our cross country trip and would suggest for others to drive on by. Growing up in texas, we know BBQ and this meat was sub par and overpriced.
Honestly, we wouldn’t have minded as much if it wasnt for the rude cashier who created an intense and awkward experience. Originally, we wanted to dine in but switched it to take out after that encounter.
I did enjoy their spicy BBQ sauce and there was a sweet older woman who was lovely. Overall, I would highly suggest looking somewhere else.

Absolutely delicious! Every time I travel, I try and find “hidden gems” and this place is exactly that! From the smell of the smoked meat to the perfectly flavored, juicy brisket, this dinner was incredible. I’ll have to stop by again on my way back through!

If you love bbq you’re going to love THIS bbq! Nothing ordinary about their authentic smoked meats! Meaty, tender burnt ends. Homemade sides like Mac & cheese spiral pasta, hash brown casserole or coleslaw. Thin-sliced brisket is delicious. Try their sausage as well as their smoked pulled pork or smoked brisket in a nacho! Almost sinful to use sauce on such flavor BUT..atleast dip a bite or two in their homemade sauces. Raspberry-Chipotle is a crowd favorite with smoky-sweet flavor or dare to try their hot sauce. Be sure you have a cold drink handy or come in on Thirsty Thursday for selection of $1 bottled beer ( limit 2 each adult meal). 2 minutes off I-80 exit. Locally owned. SUPPORT small business!! Family friendly and nice folks to greet you.

Accidentally found this gem on a road trip. Burnt ends are juicy. Burgers are legit. Do the Mac n Cheese. It’s amazing. And if there’s room fries Oreos!

Hands down the best BBQ around. I’ve traveled the world and had BBQ everywhere I’ve gone and this is the best right in my home town!! I’ve never had a bad meal at S.A.M. QUE. Try the Brisket and/or burnt ends! So much flavor. The waffle fries are bomb and so are the pub pickles! On Wednesdays they do loaded ‘Spuds’ which are amazing. If you miss the spuds on Wednesday the loaded nachos are great as well! I also have to mention the homemade sauces. The ‘STU’ sauce has some heat and lots of flavor. The ‘Raspberry Chipotle’ is what I would call sweet heat. You can really taste the raspberry AND chipotle. Spread a little on the Texas Toast to top off the meal.
Overall fair prices for the best food around served by ‘Nebraska Nice’ folks!
S.A.M. QUE does not disappoint!!!
