Very great addition to downtown Plymouth! Sushi was fantastic 10/10! Great portion size on the house salad, was a huge bowl! I didn’t drink, but my friends liked their drinks. Waitress was nice. Service was a little slow, I needed more ginger dressing and she didn’t come back to check on us until our sushi arrived which was kind of too late at that point to finish my salad. Also, need to be better versed on what roll is what, they weren’t sure. Reasonable sushi prices! I’ll be back for sure! Just what downtown Plymouth needed!

We had such a wonderful experience at Ryuu! The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere had a cozy, quaint charm that fit perfectly in downtown Plymouth. It’s great to finally have a quality sushi spot in the area.
Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious — the Pan-Fried Veggie Gyoza were perfectly crisp, the House Salad and Shiro Miso Soup were light and refreshing, and every sushi roll impressed us. The Empire Heat Roll had just the right amount of spice, the Ryuu Roll and Geisha Roll were full of flavor and beautifully presented, and the Pop Star Roll was a fun standout.
Definitely recommend Ryuu for anyone looking for great sushi, warm service, and a charming dining experience right in the heart of Plymouth ✨

This was our first time here, and we loved it. Started with the lobster app, which was huge and delicious. We also had sake and a mixed drink, both good. We ordered two rolls and a sashimi plate and everything was huge and super fresh. We loved the experience and can’t wait to go back with our friends.
The restaurant marked us as a no-show on Open Table, which is annoying.

Not only is it the only sushi restaurant and bar in Plymouth, but one of the most phenomenal overall, in MI! Sheek, hip vibe (nice date spot or gathering place for friends), incredible menu and high-quality sushi and presentation. They also have a great bar selection and the Lobster Appetizer is a MUST TRY

Amazing Sushi, drinks and service! The vibe is great with cozy booths, unlike other sushi restaurants that can feel like a cafeteria. Lia and Kap make a great team bartending bringing smiles and perfect mixology. We really enjoyed the Lobster Cigar and Avocado Dragon Ball appetizers. The S.O.S. And Paradise rolls were our favorites. Plymouth needed a spot like this… check it out!

TLDR; Great Aesthetic, mid Sushi with long wait time.
I believe this establishment recently opened so I’ll try to give them grace. The atmosphere and the aesthetic of the restaurant is nice, however, the Sushi just wasn’t good. I wouldn’t say the sushi was bad, but it just doesn’t have flavor due to it being very rice heavy (to the point where you can’t taste anything else.) We also waited a little more than 40 minutes for three basic rolls. Now, I did notice other tables did get their appetizers faster, but the sushi does take a while to come out. Also, the chopsticks are very small and frail Which I’ve never experienced before, it was hard to pick up the sushi, even as someone who is pretty good at using chopsticks. Again, they recently opened so maybe they just haven’t gotten the kinks out yet. If you want, good sushi, sadly, I wouldn’t recommend but if you want aesthetic, this might be the place for you.

A new concept in the former space of Shift Kitchen and Cocktails, Ryuu Sushi is a welcome new addition to the restaurants in Plymouth! The sushi list is very extensive and we appreciate the different varieties of preparation such as the baked rolls. We ordered the Hockeytown, the Highland, and Pop Star rolls and they were all delicious!

We went to this restaurant to get sushi. Everything was excellent. We wanted to change to a different table as the one we were seating at had a strong overhead light. They politely moved us to a different table. The cocktails were great, especially the Halo Halo. Refreshing. The sushi rolls were amazing and had good presentation. Their Ryuu roll was one of the best sushi rolls I have had. Portions were appropriate for the price. The restaurant was clean. We will be coming back.

This. Place. SLAPS! Right next to Sidecar which has been a staple for us so we HAD to try the sushi next door. The vibes are so good, sushi served in these giant boats & it is so tasty & fresh. As a bartender I’m a snob about cocktails & they hit every mark. I had a mandarin cocktail topped with Prosecco & couldn’t get enough. Excellent service & very reasonable food timing, you can tell the staff all like each other & their jobs. Cozy & cool aesthetic, definitely a new favorite spot!

This is some of the best sushi I’ve ever had, even with being treated to some incredibly good sushi while living in NYC for years. You can tell the fish is extremely high quality; we have come about once a week since they’ve opened because we both get a “healthy high” from the omegas and clearly outstanding ingredients afterwards. The reward of feeling so mentally good is almost as enjoyable as the taste itself. You will not be disappointed!
