Inside Ry’s Poke Shack, the location is small. It’s so tight in there. There are tables in there, but not many. It is tight. There is a line to get in, but it moves fast. People are in and out. The cashiers and workers are
friendly, which is a huge plus in my book.
Now the food. The food was delicious and fresh. I got the regulah salad, which is one scoop of fish style. I got ahi fish over a bed of mixed Greens with cucumber namasu for the flavor. I got jalapeno ponzu. It was so delicious and fresh. I also got one Choice Poke Bowl (Regulah), and one scoop of fish. I had salmon this time, with rice and cucumber namasu. For the flavor, I got it shoyu style, and I love it. Love the sauce. I also added crab surimi salad. It was so good. I recommend getting the crab surimi salad on everything. Overall, I’d go again.

Ry’s Poke is hands down one of the best poke spots in California! The fish is always super fresh, the ingredients taste vibrant and clean, and the portions are generous. You can really taste the quality in every bite. I love how customizable the bowls are, there are so many great toppings and sauces to choose from. The staff is friendly, quick, and always welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Whether it’s lunch, dinner, or a quick bite after the beach, Ry’s Poke never disappoints. Truly a hidden gem!

Their motto of “aloha first, den poke” is the heart of what they do. I got the privilege to come during soft opening and to meet the owners Ry and Khannie, who flew straight from Oahu to open this shop in the mainland! It is hands down the best and most authentic poke outside of Hawaii. I drove an hour and a half on a random weekday just to try this and I am so so glad I did.
We ordered the mayjah–two types of poke on top of warm rice. One garlic ponzu crunch and one spicy tobiko. Both were delicious. Fresh, high quality fish with bursts of flavor and amazing textures. I’m already thinking of trying all the diff flavors when I come back!
We were taken care of like family and I truly do believe that many restaurants should learn from what they do. Thank you, uncle Ry and auntie Khannie, for sharing your love for poke and community for others to experience. I can safely say that I will definitely be trying their original shack in Oahu someday! Much love.

A solid poke shop to try in OC! I thought the portions were okay it was lot of rice though..
The fish is amazing and the service was great! There isn’t that many tables inside the shop but plenty of places around Huntington Beach to eat near the pier or on the beach

Da best Poke in HB!! Finally got sum ono kine poke grinds here in HB (and SoCal). This is true Hawaiian style poke (fresh raw fish with island style seasonings). No globs of rice with small bits of fish. This is the real deal! Da bestest poke in HB by far! And the Aloha vibe in the shop is super chill and no worries for a short wait… just chill and enjoy the island vibe! Huge mahalos to Ry’s Poke Shack for bringing it to HB

Tiny place that serves authentic Hawaiian poke that is raw fish (salmon or ahi), sauce and a few other ingredients like onions, dried seaweed or garlic) on a bed of rice. It’s not the local poke that you will find elsewhere.
Portions are on the smaller side so big eaters be warned. Prices are on the higher end but there is a cost for having each made to order.
During busy times the wait can be long so come prepared.

Ry’s has to be some of the best poke I have tried outside of Hawai’i! We waited about 20 minutes after opening and I feel like I would wait even an hour to try it again. Their LAO style and Limu had to be some of my favorite flavors. Their spicy Hawaiian was also really good. The fish tasted fresh and pleasant. Get their side of avocado and crab, so good!

This poke place in my opinion is better than North Shore down the street. The portions felt very generous for the price, I made the mistake of misreading and ordering the Mayjah, not realizing how big each scoop of fish was. I got the spicy hawaiian and firecracker over salmon — it was perfectly tangy but next time i’ll get something spicier I also ordered online and it was done at the scheduled time, i could tell it wasn’t just made and sitting there for a while until pick up time so i appreciated the freshness of the fish as well. crab, avocado, and the crunchy onions/garlic were additional charges but i found it worth the money to add
i will definitely be back ↕️

Line long? For good reason. It’s good, it’s delicious, it’s ono!! When you get a poké restaurant straight from Hawai’i, you’re going to get the real deal. If you want traditional poké, they have it; if you want a more modern twist with even more flavor explosions, they have it. The food is delicious but what sells me is the service. When I first went to Ry’s Poké Shack in Hawai’i, the aloha is what got me going again and again. Huntington is BLESSED to get real poké, and some genuine aloha. Do NOT skip out on an opportunity to swing by for some poké and aloha.

Best poke around, hands down!! The food is amazing and you can tell the fish is fresh caught. The service is the best in town, super friendly and they make suggestions to make your meal and experience top notch! I’ve been to the original in Kahuku and the HB spot does not disappoint! Keeping the Ohana feels going!! Mahalo to the team there, you guys have me coming back multiple times every week!!
