Poke shack located at the Kahuku Sugar mill preparing fresh, authentic, and real ono poke using signature sauces and tossing fresh on every order. We are open from 1130 to sellout everyday to provide the freshest fish each day. Our sellout vary and we operate on a first come first serve basis. We don’t do phone orders to encourage fairness. Always incredible. We had a 2 Poke bowl and a 1 bowl. All 3 Poke were from the Specials menu – Cajun (our favorite if you like mayo sauce), Firecracker, Papa Bid’s (lemongrass – very Thai – so unusual and so very good!). Ry always so friendly and welcoming and his whole family there working so hard. We just made it before they ran out around 2pm on Sunday so get there early. The best.

This experience was just WOW, and not in a good way. We got there on a Sunday just before 12:30 and there was a line of maybe about 10 people. We didn’t think it would take long but boy were we wrong. It was a 40-minute wait just to order. We ordered the Tsunami Poke Nachos (fresh shoyu poke, sweet onion, sesame, avocado sauce, chili mayo, unagi sauce, furikake, green onions, crab salad, pickled cucumbers, and tobiko). This took another 15 minutes. I don’t know if they were just backed up or maybe they were cutting up the fish back there, but they mentioned they had just reopened and this was their first day back. So maybe that’s why it took so long? On top of the long wait, it wasn’t even good. They use basic store-bought tortilla chips, it was just way too much sauce, too little poke/tobiko, and too much crab salad. I guess they needed the crab salad as a filler. And it costs $29! Maybe their poke bowls are better? I won’t be back to find out though. You’re better off getting yourself some Foodland poke.

We stopped here for the fist time almost by accident. It is located on a large food trucks field (you will find plenty of seating space). We were picky for the best choice and this is how we decided to eat here for the first time.
During our 5 day stay in O’ahu we ate here four times altogether and we already miss it.
The fish (yellowfin tuna, ahi) is so delicious, it is fresh, it is cut and seasoned in a moment you order > this made the 50% of our experience.
Other 50% were Ry, his wife and as we learnt the whole family <3 they are engaged and welcoming we felt like their friends from the very first moment. Ry has a good memory to individual tastes and when we were returning he always remembered the way we like his poke.
We tried five different seasoning of poke salads and all were both tasty and distinctive (from each other). From garlic wave and ginger, to firecracker (this one ruled!!)
We visited Hawaii, and seems the beaches were only an add on to Ry’s poke. How this could be better to find your spot and souls so far from home.

Best meal of my life! The ahi melts in your mouth and the flavors are unreal! Generous portions, as fresh as it gets, one hundred percent get the crab salad add on. Super overdue for my review. This was from December 2023. It was our 1st time trying poke. We enjoyed it very much. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Due to sesame allergies, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to eat poke. But Ry & Khannie had non-sesame options too. And Ry was super helpful with providing descriptions and our options. He even wrote down which poke we ordered so we could remember for next time. Much ❤️ from Chicago.

The Poke Shack delivers. Poke is a great meal and better than to get it up on the North Shore. The poke bowl is the perfect amount of food. Highly recommend the ponzu ahi for a balance of sweet, spicy, and citrus. Thank you bro!

I absolutely love Ry’s Poke Shack! Uncle Ry and Aunty Chillie are one of the most understanding people ever! The poke here is one of the best poke I have ever had!!! I would also like to recommend going to the poke shack earlier since they will have a line and sellout quick!! They open from 11am to 4pm or until they sellout!!! Please do try Ry’s Poke Shack!!!
