I’ve been to four Sushi restaurants in San Miguel. Ryoko is the BEST sushi I’ve had since I’ve been here. The portions are excellent, my seaweed salad and roll where excellent. The Manager gave us top notch service, even as the restaurant began filling up.
The atmosphere is the elegant, and they had excellent heating as it’s been cold and rainy here. We also had hot saki, giving us that warm and comforting feeling that only hot saki gives you. Most sushi places don’t offer you pickled ginger or wasabi, but they were instantly placed in the table. A wonderful restaurant, perfect for a date or just a delicious meal with friends.

Ryoko San Miguel de Allende is a gem! Perfectly located just a 5-minute walk from the main church and Plaza De La Paz, this upscale Japanese restaurant is clean, spacious, and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our dinner experience delightful. We ordered the Wagyu steak, pork ramen, and a 12-piece sushi platter—every dish was absolutely delicious! The only downside was the music, which felt a bit loud for the vibe. Despite it being a quiet Thursday evening with few patrons, the quality and service shone through. Highly recommend this spot for fantastic Japanese cuisine in San Miguel de Allende!

Ramen was small, a bit too salty, and worst yet: they used udon not ramen noodles.
Spider roll was very good though.
Service was very slow, even though restaurant not full.

Rather disappointing after seeing such positive reviews. Granted we went for lunch on a weekday, so the place was empty, but the music was good. The food was mediocre. The service was proper but unfriendly. What looked to be the owner was there but didn’t bother to say hello or ask how our experience was. Totally uninterested in us, the only occupied table in the restaurant.

Deliciously Fresh Nigiri ~ Great Atmosphere
We came here for a late lunch and had the opportunity to try several dishes. We started with a miso soup, seaweed salad, and edamame – all of which were good. We then had the 3 types of sashimi (salmon, tuna & hamachi). The salmon was particularly good in the sashimi trio. We then had some nigiri (ama ebi, chu-toro and unagi) and rolls. The chu-toro was amazing and some of the best I’ve had. The ama-ebi was also very fresh and served with a deep fried shrimp head. We tried the spicy blue fin tuna, avocado, hamachi negi, spicy tuna & futomaki roll. I’d recommend the spicy tuna and futomaki however all were delicious. This was all paired with a dry sake recommended by our server. The chefs spoke English well, were chatty and told us about each dish. I’d come back here and would recommend it!

This place has some of the best sushi in Mexico. Their attention to detail and unique dishes make them stand out. Ive had my fair share of amazing Japanese restaurants and I can verify this place is legit. Drop by during lunch to experience some of the best hand made sushi. Presentation and explanation of each dish made them more savory. Edwin took care of us, he made us made feel at home. I read the previous reviews and if you have a food allergy stay at home. It’s not the restaurant responsibility to cater to your allergies. For anyone to leave such a thing during Covid when all restaurants are struggling is such a cowardly move. Says much of their character rather than the food and the experience.

This is one of those hidden gems. Went here for dinner after a wedding. Food was amazing, friendly and attentive staff, and awesome Chef and Captian. I never thought I would grab sushi in the middle of Mexico but definitely top notch I had in a while.
I wish I took more photos of the food (I get to excited and eat them).

WOW! Everything was amazing! Hiroshi is a master at finding local ingredients to make traditional Japanese food! Had the 15 piece omakase and I can truly say it is the best Japanese restaurant in the country over Kyo in Mexico City (my previous favorite).

We had lunch here today, and the experience fell far below our expectations. The staff started cleaning the restaurant floor while we were still eating. Despite such unprofessional service, the cashier asked for a double-digit tip when I was settling the bill.
