The quality of their food is really much better than most of the other options in the area. Very consistent with friendly service. Their handcut fries are awesome, some of the best I’ve had. They do a great lobster roll (coming from someone who vacations in Maine every summer) and the crab rangoons are exemplary as well. Oh, and great crushes to boot!

We’ve been to Ryleigh’s many times. The food is always excellent, especially the oyster selection. Today, I tried the crab and lobster macaroni and cheese. It was delicious with tons of seafood, including an entire lobster claw. The oyster stew was also great, very flavorful. Ryleigh’s will continue to be one of our go to spots.

Our recent dinner experience was highly enjoyable, enhanced by the live musical performance of a friend’s band. The venue’s layout is thoughtfully designed, offering ample space, and the service was exemplary. We were particularly impressed with the extensive selection on both the food and beverage menus. The filet was prepared to perfection, and the crab cakes were a delightful culinary experience. Additionally, the sushi proved to be exceptionally flavorful. We thoroughly appreciated our visit and anticipate a return in the near future.

We normally come here for happy hour to hangout with long time no see previous co-workers once every couple months. We got a little disappointed for the upcharge on fee with extra 3.5% on bill this time no reason what so ever. And they charged $5 for asking extra bread for the crab dips. Drinks were good as usual the outside area was still nice to hangout, food tasted the same like the quality was there, but this place really went up the price to the point we are going somewhere else for the next happy hour.

I’m visiting from Gulf Shores Alabama to see my eldest son and his girlfriend. We had an excellent time! Katie was a wonderful server! The bone-in pork chop was excellent, as was the seafood macaroni and cheese!! Comfortable dining inside, spacious outdoor dining area. I highly recommend it!

Very enjoyable lunch. Fresh and local. Started with Maryland crab soup, next excellent fresh oysters, and finished with a hamburger, that was great meat from a local farm…delicious, and cooked to perfection with hot crispy fries.

Edit: I ended up going back here because a friend wanted to celebrate her birthday here. The manager, short bald guy is very argumentative and rude. My friend expected a table in a particular part of the restaurant, when making a reservation. They gave her something completely different. Upon trying to rectify the situation, the manager started getting very defensive and waving his hands in my face, while arguing with us. I’ve never experienced this kind of treatment before in any of the wonderful neighborhood dining establishments in Timonium and Cockeysville. The server who waited on us was very sweet, but the food was awful. We ordered calamari, and got a plate full of tentacles. The brussels sprouts were very burned. We sent those back. The food quality used to be better, so I’m unsure why it got worse. I’m not even sure what they do for birthdays, but my friend was offered nothing for her special day and this was honestly the very last straw. The atmosphere is so beautiful at Ryleigh’s and I wanted to love this place so much. After repeatedly being disrespected, there is absolutely no way I can patronize this place in the future. I’m a huge advocate of supporting small and local businesses. I’m also very big on customer service, respect and community.
The good: Decent food, fresh oysters, and this has one of my favorite happy hours in the neighborhood. I also love that they have sushi. The food really deserves a 5 star rating.
The bad: The service…. Im thinking the service changes depending on where you sit because I’ve only had someone who was nice serve me one time. The inside bartenders were so sweet. I normally sit outside when I come which is where I typically receive service that is not so friendly. I hesitated on making a review because I do love the food.
I was there earlier in the week and Kellie served me on the patio. She had this weird energy to her where I felt like she was annoyed at me. I then realized she was upset because I sat myself on accident on the empty patio instead of asking a hostess to seat me outside. She had a very standoffish attitude towards me the entire time. I had to flag her down every time I needed something, such as a refill. I have great manners, so I would say “excuse me, may I….?” At one point when I needed something, and tried to politely get her attention, she turns around and says “Excuse me my name is Kellie if you need anything” while cutting me off mid sentence. She said this very rudely, as if we were on a first name basis. She said this, as if she introduced herself when she first came to the table… She did not.
I started off with two oyster appetizers, and then I ordered some sliders for my entrée which she forgot to enter the computer. I had waited a full hour before I asked her where my sliders were at. She told me they were “sent to the next table”. It was finally then when she forgot to ring in my food she finally fixed her face and attitude and all of a sudden became CFA friendly to me. I think I even got a smile towards the end.
This isn’t the first time I was treated so strangely here on the patio. Last year, I came for my birthday with my friend. Same situation…. But this was a male server that we had, and he just seemed bothered by us being there. We hadn’t been there for more than 30 minutes and I was mid appetizer, when the gentleman who was working the patio came over and abruptly interrupted and said that we had to move because it was about to rain and they have to move a party into the area that I’m sitting at. He did not look sorry, he did not care, and he said the best I can do for you is take a drink off the check and close your check out. If you wanna continue ordering, you can go inside and ask to be sat at a table. We were so put off that we just left and went to Bluestone, who treated me so well and made up for that horrible experience.
I won’t be back any time soon, but for other patrons, please talk to your staff about customer service and being friendly.

Stopped into Ryleigh’s Oyster and had a great experience. We sat at the bar and it wasn’t crowded at all, which made it even better. The sushi, cocktails, and crab soup were all absolutely amazing — everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly well-prepared. Service was friendly and fast without feeling rushed. Perfect spot for a relaxed meal with great food and drinks. Will definitely be back.

We went to the 18th annual oyster fest, 1Nov. We drove down from Delaware. The oysters were great,, 7 varieties, pretty much $2 a piece. We had pit beef and brisket from Woodpile BBQ and they were very good. We really enjoyed the setup and bands the atmosphere was terrific. From the restaurant, the hand cut fries were excellent but the char-grilled oysters were over the top fantastic. We want to give a shout out to our server Schafer, he seemingly had 20 tables and was working his butt off. He did a fantastic job with all of those tables. Drinks, the grapefruit crushes are a must. It was about a hour and a half drive but well worth it. Thanks also to 98 Rock as they advertised and were there for the event and without them we wouldn’t have known about this terrific event.

Honestly, the happy hour prices for the (Avery Pearl) oysters are great (Monday all day, and 3-6pm Monday through Friday). A few of our oysters were completely mangled, but I know it’s basically an art to shuck them. We will forgive this, especially at a dollar an oyster.
However, the fries were old, and the breading was falling off the calamari. The calamari was not overcooked, which was nice, but the amount on the plate felt very stingy for its cost.
Maybe next time we go, things that aren’t oysters will be better.
Also, something to note. They charge 3.5% extra for any electronic purchases. Prices on the menu are listed for cash prices, which feels a little shady. Just something to think about if you do decide to check this place out.
