My boyfriend and I just went to Rye for the first time on Valentine’s Day, and we were absolutely blown away! Very rarely are we blown away by a restaurant, and this beyond exceeded our expectations!! The oysters were probably the best we have ever had, the ragu was amazing and the beef was perfect in the dish! The duck was perfectly cooked at medium rare, upon our request. The restaurant had a great ambiance and the staff were very informative and welcoming! We will definitely be going to Rye more often. We were blown away from the start of our experience with the drinks all the way until the end of our dinner with the amazing goat cheese cheesecake and complimentary heart macaroons for Valentine’s Day!

We recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Rye Restaurant. Have always heard wonderful things and our expectations were exceeded! The staff were inviting and friendly; Calum was our server and he was fantastic. The food was full of flavor. We had the seasonal dessert- a s’more’s brownie- SO GOOD (shoutout to Hannah, sous chef!!). It was a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend.

Overall experience here wasn’t bad, just a few mishaps that kind of put a damper on it all. Boyfriend was expecting to get a venison tenderloin but ended up with a ribeye, again not the end of the world just a little disappointing. We also got served the wrong appetizer so it was a bit dysfunctional in the serving aspect. My duck was absolutely spectacular!! And my drinks were yummy. Hoping our next round here will be better (:

Not a big fan of things being fried in seed oils, but Rye does a nice job adding class and sophistication to the dining experience in downtown Appleton. Would have been good to finish with an espresso, but all they had was coffee

Beautiful dinner that was executed so nice from the beginning with friendly Sophia and Mira as hostesses. Mira was slammed and was able to get us a glass of wine with a big, beautiful smile. Claire, our server was very knowledgeable and knows the wine list and menu inside out with great recommendations. Have the French onion soup, filet, and red cabbage. You will not be disappointed.
Will be back!

My gosh I wish I went here before. My Internship final dinner took me here, and maybe it tasted a bit better because it was free, but it was really good!! The oysters were fire and I got some extra because my friend didn’t like them; I recommend the cooked ones instead of raw. French onion soup was amazing and filling, and my New York steak was perfectly cooked at medium-rare, although the rest of my party’s steak was quite a bit more rare than they asked for (medium). Overall great service and experience.

I wish we would have gotten more pictures but things were quickly eaten as soon as they hit the table! Food was phenomenal, cooked perfectly, the scallop amuse bouche is one of the best bites of food you can get in the valley. Steaks cooked perfectly. My family and I don’t look it, but we love higher end dining and eat out quite frequently to find our favorites. George was the best server we’ve had BY FAR. Very knowledgeable and very nice, overall one of the best experiences we’ve had eating throughout all of Wisconsin.

I thought that our dining experience at Rye was just as expected. They have an intimate atmosphere but a little too dim once our food was served. The dishes had a great presentation and really needed some more light to truly appreciate them.
We had the oyster service, which had great pairing flavors, whether raw or baked. I think a little more attention could be paid to the shucking process, as we did have to pick out several shell pieces.
We also had the squash ravioli and seared scallop entrées. Both were very well composed dishes.
We will be back to try other menu/featured items. I highly recommend making a reservation at Rye.

We don’t get to Appleton that often. Staying across the street at the Paper Valley Hotel. Glad that we decided to have dinner at Rye (right across the street).
Had reservations, got there a little early so we sat at bar and had a couple of their special Old Fashioned. Got great service and terrific drinks (Thanks Clause).
Got seated at a nice spot, towards the rear. Spacious and not too noisy. We ordered several of the Sharable plates, Beet Salad, Crab Cakes, and Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. Each one was an amazing combination of flavors and textures. Hard to pick a favorite.
We had room for dessert, so we tried the special Peppermint Dome. Again, an amazing choice.
In total and excellent meal. We would definitely stop again.

4 stars. Rye Restaurant is a solid spot with great food and a really enjoyable atmosphere. Dan, who works there, was super friendly and helped make the experience smooth and welcoming.
The staff really know how to create a comfortable vibe, and the overall experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Definitely a place I’d recommend checking out.
