Really great homemade ice cream. Me and my partner went here for our after dinner dessert, let me tell you it was the right choice for us.

I would suggest putting a fevered check mark on this ice cream shop because this is definitely one I am coming back to you if I’m in the area.

Super tasty, fresh ice cream. I personally love the soft ice cream twist of pineapple and yoghurt. Fresh and tasty, and not so sweet. My kids love all the (traditional and crazy) tastes of Italian ice scoops. It’s only open in the summer season and for me the best in Ocean Township!

Good ice cream, I had the triple chocolate. I can always count on a consistent good flavor profile from scoops. If I had one gripe, they aren’t open enough in the off season. Thanks Scoops.

Love their ice cream, but the vanilla soft serve was my favorite. It doesn’t taste as good this year. Did you change vendors?

Ordered a sundae. It was put together really messy. Girl behind the counter made a huge mess putting it together & mentioned that it’s not gonna look pretty, but it gonna taste good. Had to put the medium cup into a large cup because everything was falling over the edge. It was extremely messy to eat, although it was good!

Unfortunately the location on Rt. 35 N has proven to be inconsistent. On our most recent visit, about a third of the tubs were empty, resulting in a significantly reduced flavor selection. The 3 people on staff seemed apathetic about both this and the amount of ice cream they scooped onto our cones, which was abysmal for an establishment that literally exists because people want ice cream. They blamed it on the ice cream “being too hard to add onto the cone,” but their bloodshot eyes and odd demeanors suggested otherwise. Some quality staff training, careful management, and timely inventory replacement would make this place a gem since the ice cream is good.

Honestly, how can ice cream taste bad? It does here. It truly is the worst Ice Cream I’ve ever had. It’s not smooth and creamy—it actually tastes terrible. I don’t think Ryan’s Ice Cream owns this place—someone else bought Ryans out. Also, a medium cup was $8 . Never again.

Great shop in Ocean Township. I encourage all local residents to support this business. The story is simply this, it’s easy for everyone to be nice and kind on a full stomach, I know this can sound a bit ambiguous so let me explain. It’s hard time for all business (due to Covid-19), resources along with their supply chains have come to a halt, lost jobs and a bad economy all around. Some businesses, however have substantially increased their prices and people struggling are having a tougher time affording basic goods from shops trying to squeeze as much as they can from their clients. Your miles may vary and it’s hard to understand the full reasoning behind this, some of it may be justified as these items become more scarce, but I’ve personally seen some ridiculous prices out there. Whatever the reasons may be, it’s worth noting that Scoops stands strong in its community, providing support and keeping their cost fair. It’s important to remember the businesses that stand to play a stronger role in their community, that do well by their clientele. It’s noble, it’s rare. Their prices remain fair and they completely refuse to even take tips, understanding that we are all in this together. This is sending a strong message, so if you’re in Ocean township with a sweet tooth, this is the shop to support. Friendly staff and great ice cream. To the owner/management there… Thank you!!!

I went on Sunday 6/4 around 6:45 PM. The two young women working behind the counter had terrible customer service skills and were rude. They were rolling their eyes at each other as customers were ordering and even smirking at times. They just had an attitude of not wanting to be there and seemed bothered by simple requests such as asking for a receipt or a top to carry ice cream to go.

Additionally, the ice cream looked old and half of the flavors weren’t available. I understand they just opened 3 weeks ago and are probably still figuring out the correct volume of inventory based on demand but when half the flavors are out and the ones remaining are below 50% tells me someone isn’t being methodical on keeping tabs on their inventory.

It was sad to hear another customer notice these same things and outwardly make a comment of “we’re not coming back here again.”

Ultimately, logistics and inventory can improve. Those two young women working the evening of 6/4 need to be counseled on appropriate work ethic and being kind to customers. If they were my employees I’d be very worried about their attitudes towards customers.
