Now, the food was definitely not what I expected. I reside in Milwaukee, and there isn’t a Ruth Chris there, so when I was in Madison for work that week, I decided that I must go, especially since it was my birthday. I ordered the fillet medium rare with a shrimp add on, and brussels sprouts. For dessert, I had cheesecake. I saved the best for last, which was my non-alcoholic blueberry Mojito. The fillet was cooked to the right temperature but lacked in flavor. I’m not one for much seasoning as I feel that a good grade of meat will speak for itself with only a touch of salt and pepper to complement the meat, yet the meat was just blah. The Brussels weren’t good either. They were missing something, no seasoning, no char, just crunchy sprouts. Also the cheesecake wasn’t good, it had an off refrigerated like taste. Oh yes, the 3 small shrimp were very dry, I felt that they should’ve been juicer and plump, and they were quite the opposite.
Now the bread and butter was good, thank God for that, and the virgin blueberry Mojito was the best that I’ve ever had, kudos to the bartender! Sooo basically I spent $105 for bread/butter and a minty blueberry soda!
Moving to the main courses, we indulged in a variety of dishes that showcased the steakhouse’s commitment to quality. The Chefs Fish, ordered in two servings, was cooked to perfection, with a delicate flavor that highlighted the freshness of the ingredients. The 16oz Ribeye was tender and juicy, with a beautiful char that locked in its rich, beefy taste, while the Bone In Filet offered a luxurious, melt-in-your-mouth experience. These dishes were served sizzling on 500-degree plates, a signature touch that added to the visual and sensory appeal. The sides, such as the Roasted Corn with its smoky sweetness and the creamy Mashed Potatoes, were the perfect accompaniments, ensuring every bite was balanced and satisfying.
Dessert was the sweet finale we anticipated, and it did not disappoint. We savored the Chocolate Sin Cake, The Creme Brulee, with its perfectly caramelized crust and creamy custard, was another highlight, offering a classic finish. We also enjoyed Bread Pudding, which added a comforting, homey note to close out the meal. Each dessert was a testament to the kitchen’s attention to detail and commitment to delivering a memorable dining experience.
old fashioneds were delicious
Food-
Wedge Salad had brown lettuce.
The scallops were ok. Slightly fishy.
The 4 oz filets and grilled shrimp were good.
Au gratin pots were average.
Service- average. Got the vibe she was burnt out.
Atmosphere- seated at a booth.
Price- Definitely not worth a $200 meal.
We do frequent fine dining often so we were let down all around. Sometimes you get a good one and sometimes you don’t.
Overall, we had a wonderful dinner experience. Sitting by the fire on a winter day also added to it. There are several steak places around, but a few with this perfect atmosphere. Definitely, worthy of future dinners.
