In Charlotte for an event, glad to find local owned family business for dinner. I liked the National Geographic magazine library! It could have made me stay longer! Fresh ingredients and no watery lettuce for chef salad in huge bowl, as I was looking for the hard boiled egg. My friend had the chicken salad sandwich and said it was just like homemade. I look forward to another visit!

Love this sandwich shop, been coming here for years. Their burgers & fries are so yummy!!! Only two downsides the restaurant is small so not allot of seating if busy & soda machine is in the way of ordering line so it can be chaotic to get a refill.
Other than that I highly recommend been coming here for past 10 years or so. Service is great with friendly folks & delicious food come hungry yall!

I’ve been eating at Rusty’s since it opened, and the food is just as good as it has always been. Their fries are in our top 5 fries in Charlotte. I almost always get a french dip, but I do get a burger from time to time. My mother likes their reuben.
I think they probably changed hands at some point, but whoever took over has done a great job of maintaining the quality and atmosphere. They have the same paint, the same pictures, the same Far Side cartoons and same National Geographic magazines that they had in the 80’s when I would sit and play the Ms. Pac Man that was built into a table in the back. It brings back all the nostalgia and our kids love it (although they pronounce it “Rust-eeez” from the Cars movies). Definitely recommend this place, it’s a well known locals hang-out.

Been here 3 times and I will be back. Food always feels freshly made, delivered hot. Fries aren’t soaked in salt, buns dont fall apart from grease, soda machine is always balanced so your coke isn’t flat. They seem to make good choices with how they operate. Reasonably priced, too.

Rusty’s is a simple place without a lot of bells and whistles. I tell anyone who asks me that Rusty’s has the best cheeseburger in Charlotte. A great burger doesn’t need a wide variety of toppings. It just needs to have fresh, quality ingredients and a fair price. Rusty’s delivers on that!

You cannot go wrong with a cheeseburger and fries for Rusty’s – I think it’s the best in Charlotte. Sandwiches are delicious and the staff is always great. Truly a Charlotte staple.
