Our founder Rusty Fenton’s dream was to bring the authentic taco stand experience to local communities and to become the neighborhood taco stand. The dream became reality when the first Rusty Taco opened in a converted gas station on Greenville Avenue in Dallas, TX in 2010. But Rusty Taco is more than just a place for street tacos. Rusty also believed in serving the community and creating a place where people from all walks of life can come together and feel welcome. We are passionate about what we do and keep our menu fresh and simple. Deliciously uncomplicated tacos crafted by hand with recipes created by our founder, who famously said: “Tacos are the Most Important Meal of the Day®”!

Great tacos. Fresh ingredients. Creative tasty combinations. Great staff and atmosphere. Only reason for a 4 star review is the price. If you’re able to drop a pretty penny the experience is worth it but oh my you’ll be feeling that dent in your wallet.

Walking in, the staff were friendly, the restaurant was clean and tidy. The menus is unique, diverse, and well presented and the overall branding of the restaurant is appealing. It’s a cool atmosphere but the food was lacking. I had the Rocoto Spice Chicken Taco which is listed to be spicy, but was lacking in heat and tenderness, and the Bbq Brisket taco had good flavor but the meat was too dry.
I prefer a good fresh corn tortilla, but the ones I had were dry and didn’t appear fully cooked, which is not a good mouth feel. It’s like having undercooked potatoes.
What sets apart an OK taco shop from a great one is flavor and texture. The great shops have dialed in every aspect of the taco (the tortilla, the fresh cilantro/onion/peppers, and fresh tender flavorful and juicy meat);Rusty Taco didn’t have these aspects dialed in.

First experience was tremendous. My foodie child kept shaking his head repeating “so good”. Sorry – we took one bite and forgot to breathe while we inhaled the rest so all I have is a photo of the finished meal. We will make this a more regular spot.

I have to give a shoutout to Rusty Taco for the absolutely incredible customer service that they provided to me and my office today. We had placed a large catering order through a 3rd party that was cancelled overnight by the 3rd party app. I reached out at 7:30am (before the store even opened), and the manager took my call and assured me that he could still honor my large order for today. He even took care of the hassle of calling the third party to help settle it- AND the food was 10 minutes early and he took care of all of the setup.
I cannot thank them enough for coming through and the office absolutely loved every item we received. I cannot recommend them enough for individual, small or large catering orders!

Pretty good place for texmex. The food seemed pretty fresh for both the toppings and the meats. I’m not sure if it was by design or not but one of my tacos only had one tortilla and it definitely needed two! All the hot sauces are pretty good but the yellow one was my favorite. All in a all a good place to grab a bite to eat!

They were super accommodating to changing the vegetarian tacos to vegan! My first order of two tacos was wrong and included cheese after I asked for none. But they remade them for me and gave an extra one! I wish there were more straightforward vegan options but loved the cauliflower and plant based chorizo!!

The front person was so rude! First time I’ve been there, so I didn’t know how it worked. She called Shawn, and i went up because it sounded like John. The person at the register asks no questions and is very rude.
If you don’t give a tip, she knows it while you pay and maybe that’s it.

Had a great experience and enjoyed the tacos very much. I recommend the bbq brisket and baja shrimp tacos, they’re delicious. Fairly priced tacos but smaller than I’d usually like them to be. I was disappointed with the guacamole on the nachos as it was already browning and tasted old. If the guacamole was fresh it would be 5 stars! I can see myself coming back here in the future.
