The food came out so fast I almost didn’t realize it was mine. The appetizer of Cheese Fries was very very good when it came out. Since is shredded cheese it will cool down and start returning to its cheese shape but this is physics and nothing I can do about that . The fries held up very well. Nothing groundbreaking but well executed. My Mahi Gras was excellent. The bun was perfect for a fish sandwich and the fish was very good. The burger was not mine but how can you go wrong putting Roast Debris on a burger. This place is just a fun little stop and a good little watering hole.

This is big food, people! And every bite is scrumptious and lovingly homemade. Everything is done right here. The onion rings are hand battered, and so is the fried cheese. They do a burger sized fried pepperjack square that was on my burger, called the Hijacked Burger, and it was also hand battered. The Hijacked Burger is described on the menu as crisp bacon paired with Cheddar, Pepper Jack, fried Pepper Jack, and all tied together with Chipotle mayo. Wowza! I’ve never had a burger as decadent, and I could only eat half of it. It was amazing! The deep fried pepper jack oozed all over the rest of the burger (see pics), and the bacon was super crisp, exactly how I like it. The burger meat itself was cooked just right, and they season everything perfectly. I love that you could pick between regular and sweet potato fries, and both were good. I snatched one of my husband’s onion rings, and it was the best onion ring I’ve ever had. There is a huge selection of hot sauces, and condiments, which shows that they really understand how people have different pallets. We sat at the bar and it was really fun to watch the cooks working in perfect Harmony. They were super gracious when my husband noticed that I ordered the wrong thing for him, Fried fish instead of a fried fish sandwich, and they were happy to provide the bun and set up, even though I hadn’t purchased that. We passed through Mandeville on the way to a tiny place we have in Mississippi, and this will be on our regular rotation for the place to stop and eat a giant meal. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed eating here. The atmosphere is super relaxed and it’s a great spot to hang out after walking around Old Mandeville. The seafood tasted fresh and the portions were bigger than I expected. Service was friendly and fast, and the staff checked on us often without being annoying. It has that local Louisiana feel and the prices are reasonable for the quality. Definitely a place I would come back to with family or friends.

Food was very fresh, done correctly, as expected. Service was prompt! Nifty beach/fishing pier atmosphere a few blocks from the water.
Cajun Shrimp Tacos were amazingly filling! Fried: Pickles , shoestring fries and “Cheese sticks” were perfectly addictive and delicious. (Pics after We partially snacked on them.)

Me, my wife, and 2 kids went here on 02/17/26. We aren’t from here so we weren’t sure of the close time until we got there. We got there at 8pm and they close at 9. As previous servers we normally wouldn’t come to a restaurant an hour before close but we were in a pinch. We walked in, there were 2 women seated and eating. A Togo order placed after us. The woman at the register made no attempt to smile or be personable. She seemed to rush us as we were ordering and kept a blank stare the entire time. The entire kitchen crew audibly got angry at togos and the phone when it rang. Even telling the lady at the register not to answer and she didn’t. This was about 8:20. We ordered the fried cheese which was given to us severely under seasoned and with none of the sauce that was supposed to come with it. The food runner also seemed to have no personality and again not a smile in sight.
The rest of our food was brought to us and the food was pretty good. No complaints there. We got up and cleaned our table the best we could. And as we left I thanked them all and hoped they had a good night. That came with no response and the lady at the register kept her back towards us the entire time. I would like to mention that my wife left at 20% percent tip despite the fact of getting no service beyond out order taken and our food brought out. While the food was good the atmosphere and customer service was nonexistent.

The food was soo good. A co worker and I were looking for somewhere in the area to eat and came upon this place. The staff are soo nice. I got the buffalo shrimp that were phenomenal. I was expecting about 6 shrimp bt they gave us a whole plate full. The shrimp were lightly battered and were perfect. We also got the shrimp tacos, Hijacked burger, and the Brickhouse chicken sandwhich. Everything was hot and fresh. The burger and chicken sandwhich were huge. Will def come back.

Great place to grab a delicious burger on the Northshore. The establishment was clean & efficient, tables cleaned immediately once patrons left. Restroom was clean, had hot water,soap, paper towels. A huge selection of burgers, salads, sides to appeal to ones pallet. Outside seating available also.

My husband and I are from Las Vegas and moved here four months ago we come from a place that has the best food in the world so when I tell you, my review is true Rusty pelican is hands-down one of my favorite restaurants of all time the price, the quality of the food I have gone to New Orleans and I promise I haven’t had the quality of food that I have here at this restaurant we come twice a week today is January 1, 2026 and we will be eating here today. Yes it’s open. We sit in our favorite seat the first bench outside.
