I am visiting Edmonds with a group of friends for the first time. We were looking for a breakfast place to fit the local “flavor” so The Rusty Pelican caught our eye. I love breakfast, so the expansive menu and high quality food were great. However, we were disappointed that the decor could have been anywhere USA. While crisp and eye catching, there was no relation between the name of the restaurant and the actual Hollywood type vibe. As an islander, we thought we had chosen somewhere with an ocean feel.

What a fancy brunch place! There are lots of options in the menu. Many people came here for mimosa. The food quality was good. Services were good too. We were not disappointed. We arrived a little bit past 11am on a Saturday, the waiting time was 45 minutes. Be prepared that the wait time can be long.

Classy and fabulous! SO many choices on the breakfast menu. I had Combo #1 Swedish pancakes with 2 eggs “over medium” and 2 sausage links. Valentine’s Mimosa and my son had kids menu grilled cheese with fruit. Boyfriend had Country Omlet with a Bloody Mary drink. Top drawer!!

Such a cute place to have brunch. So much to choose from on their menu!! The food was okay, service is great! But we sat in a booth and felt very cramped, which kind of dampened the experience.

The omelette was fine, made a little different than usual; almost like a scramble? However, I do like the option of getting pancakes as a side! You never see that!! The potatoes were different; they were thinly sliced like on a mandolin. I wish they were a little crispier.

Service was quick and friendly. I love the pastry tray option given at the beginning; I’ve never seen that before and thought it was a great concept!

I treated myself to a solo breakfast date at The Rusty Pelican in downtown Edmonds, and it did not disappoint! The vibe was warm, cozy, and super welcoming. They started me off with a selection of coffee cakes (I picked the blueberry lemon… so good!). I had the Mill Creek omelet with potatoes and wheat toast, plus a mango mimosa that was both pretty and refreshing. The food was amazing, but the service and atmosphere were even better. Can’t wait to come back!

Edmonds is wonderful. This cafe not so much. Greeter was a snob. I ordered a Belgian Waffle which they charged me for (one) About $15.00. It was like a frozen waffle from a box. Ordered mine with pecans which I had maybe six of. Awful. My companions breakfast sandwich was soggy .
Restaurant was very crowded and noisy. Sad place for the great city of Edmonds. Will never be back and refer no one.

Delicious breakfast, but high prices.
My husband and i came here as we were in town for a concert. The location was the most beautiful spot we visited in seattle area, hands down.
The service here was very friendly and surprisingly fast, especially given how busy they were.
The food was good but not the best I have ever eaten, I got the Ole scramble and I found it was far too mild and the provided hot sauce was also too mild – it was still tasty though. My husband got the lemon custard crepes and he loved them and devoured the entire plate within moments.
The portion sizes are giant, as on par with the rest of our experience eating in the USA, so if you have a big appetite you should be happy.

Overall if I ever return to seattle, I would likely return here.

I did not expect such a beautifully decorated cafe by its name.
We waited close to half an hour to be seated but once we were service and food was prompt and the food was delicious.
My daughter ordered crepes and did not enjoy the flavoring, she normally loves crepes.
I had pancakes with my skillet breakfast and they were not great. They had a leathery and almost chewy texture which is pretty disappointing for pancakes.
But overall we really enjoyed our food and the atmosphere as well as the service and they serve a really great cup of drip coffee.

Wow. So disappointing. I ordered avocado toast, with smoked salmon. The toast was thin, and didnt hold up to the “smashed avocado” so was soggy. The salmon was dry, and tasted like it came out of a can.
When I told my server I wouldn’t be eating it, he took my plate away without offering an apology or an alternative. He never came back to check.
My husband ordered the chicken fried steak. Sad small steak, didnt taste fresh and the side of thinly sliced breakfast potatos were all undercooked.
For a place that serves a cup of coffee for 6.50$, you’d expect breakfast a little more elevated and we’ll executed.
Will not be back.

We loved everything about this place. The food was fresh and delicious, the vibe was welcoming, and the staff was friendly. Their Bloody Mary is one of the best I’ve ever tried (and I’ve tried it in a lot of places all over US). Portions are huge, I would recommend splitting them for two if you can’t eat much.
This place gets packed very quickly in the morning, so come early if you don’t want to wait.
