From beginning to end these guys were amazing, hands down! I ran into a Rustika cake at a party and knew they were going to do our wedding cake. The cake tasting was relaxed, fun, and no pressure. It was fun! They had some great options and helped us figure out the look we wanted for our cake. We ended up with the top layer being mango and whipped cream and the bottom was the white chocolate raspberry. It was a huge hit and people came up asking for seconds and who did our cake! Rustika was the best choice we could have made and even if you don’t end up going with them, you would be doing a disservice to yourself not try their cakes!

Very nice bakery with even nicer staff! Everything I tried was delicious. My favorite thing is their creme brulee and the cookies. I don’t usually eat cookies but their cookies are delicious. The texture is just exactly how I like it. It’s somewhat crunchy on the outside and soft inside and not too sweet. The chocolate truffles are in my top favorites as well. Again not overly sugary and there is a cherry inside 🙂 they also make custom cakes for special occasions.

Cute lil cafe, tasty food, amazing stuff. 4 stars only, because I’m sorry, the coffee with milk doesn’t mean cappuccino. But I understand that it’s really hard to find good cappuccino in this country.Besides that, everything is perfect !

My wife and I loved our whole experience with Rustika cafe and bakery from start to finish! Beginning with our cake tasting, we had the best time trying out cake slice in our selected cake flavors served along with multiple fillings so that we could mix and match to find our dream combination. Cindy and Laura was so helpful and made sure we would love our wedding cake! I really love the light icing they use for all of their wedding cakes, super airy compared to buttercream, and it really lets the cake’s flavor shine through. Our cake looked and tasted great on our wedding day. It arrived on time and with no damage. We have already been back to the shop a few times to try their empanadas and cookies . It’s nice that they can put any filling and cake flavor they have together to make a custom flavor combo of your choice. I am so happy I found Rustika and will be a customer for life!

For my wife’s birthday, she showed me a picture she found online of a cake she wanted. I took the picture to Rustica, and they replicated the cake beautifully! My wife and I couldn’t be be happier with the results. The bakers nailed it! It tasted just as good as it looks! I would recommend them for any event

Maybe we went on an off day, Monday. Noon… but as soon as we walked in, our noses were offended by what smelled like a bathroom stall… not a great smell when you’re expecting cookies. But we tried some things anyway. The wedding cookies were alright, but not authentic. The chocolate chip nut cookies were so dry they must’ve been on the shelf for 4 days, and the sales clerk gave us the only broken cookie in the case.. Why?? We also tried a sample white petitfore on the counter, and I swear it tasted like the restroom odor. We haven’t tried the pecan pie (that we were told was a scratch crust, but I doubt it ) and to be honest we are a little afraid to. I’m sorry, but we won’t ever be back. Kroger had better pastries.

Empenadas, Meat Pies, or “Pasties” — whatever you call them, they are so fresh and delicious here. Baked from scratch, not fried in cheap fat as in some other places. And the cakes — So moist and creamy — each slice is so delicious! We are so lucky to have this European style bakery right here in Sugar Land. On 6 at William Trace — after eating you can walk a couple of doors over and check out the second-hand book store. A great way to spend an afternoon!

I went in on a lark based on the images I saw on their reviews. Specifically, because of their empanada/meat pie image. I asked about the chick and beef, which was better and instead the server recommended I try the chicken mole. The savory kind, not to be confused with the sweet one that comes with chocolate. I enjoyed eating it. It was savory and the dough was flaky.

After seeing many photos of beautiful cakes and tasty looking empanadas we decided to give them a try.
Unfortunately the beef empanadas tasted more like Cornish Pasty with very thick dough rather than what other empanadas I’ve had tasted like. It lacked seasoning.
The $6.50 personal key lime pie was disappointing – the crust was thick and the filling didn’t have enough lime or condensed milk and tasted “eggy”.
The $6.00 Eclair looked good inspite of it nor being dipped in chocolate ganache as one could expect. Unfortunately the patachoux pastry was dry and the custard filling didn’t taste much like custard because too much cream was whipped into it.
They have a special for 1 Empanada, Soup and a Petit Four for $7.50. Be warned, though, if you add iced tea, your bill will be over $12!
And on a final note….the Petit Four wasn’t very tasty either.

The cutest cake ever and the best decision ever to get our baby shower cake done here at Rustika’s. Laura is a such a sweet person and she did everything so perfectly ! We went for strawberry cream flavor , no fondant , all butter cream and it turned out so well and beyond our expectations! This flavor is mildly sweet and our guests enjoyed the cake !
