This was probably the most disappointing sandwich I’ve had in my life. I would usually never spend $18 on a sandwich but i was starving and I figured this place is an institution and it would be amazing. I was appalled when i got the sandwich and it was boring bread with one small slice of mozzarella which didn’t seem fresh or flavorful AT ALL . It was like bodega mozzarella. And unripe terrible tomatoes. And was supposed to have balsamic vinaigrette but i think it was just vinegar. Never ever again. Honestly shocked.

I generally have had good experiences with Russo’s, but I ordered their prosciutto sandwich which is supposed to come with prosciutto, mozz, basil, and olive oil. I opened up my sandwich to see only two tiny leaves of basil. For $17, I expect better.

I won’t be going back to Russo’s. The mozzarella was the best part, but only the soft center had real flavor. The outer part was bland and forgettable. The prosciutto di parma was a pain to deal with — packed between layers of plastic that make it frustrating to separate and enjoy.
The worst part was the service. They tried to give me something I didn’t order, rang me up for it, and I had to go back inside and explain — again — that I wasn’t taking it. No apology, no acknowledgment, just attitude.
The staff were cold and rude the entire time. Not in a “New York” way — just genuinely unfriendly.
The ambiance tries to feel like an old-school Italian deli, but without any of the old-school Italian warmth. It ends up feeling like a hollowed-out shell of what Park Slope used to be.

Was craving an italian hero. Its so highly rated but really disappointed. Not only is it too expensive and not worth it for the amount you get but the sandwich is made so sloppy. Tastes ok nothing crazy but not nearly worth the $

I recently discovered this place! They have some many options for everyone. The godfather sandwich is the best and for dessert I would recommend 7 layer (rainbow) cookies, tiramisu or raspberry tartufo which is delicious!

This is a mega store for all things Italian. It has sauces,pasta, breads and cured meats . It has fresh meat and fresh cheese and pasta. You can literally get lost looking at the large selection. I stumbled upon it on accident and I am coming here for my pasta from now on . Its fresh and inexpensive. The customer service is amazing.
