It’s a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the decor, but I was hoping for more tenderness from the signature meat dishes.

The atmosphere is fantastic. I especially loved the paintings on the walls, which give the space a great personality. The service was also very friendly and attentive throughout our meal.

However, the food was a bit of a letdown given the great environment. We ordered the Plov and the Beef Stroganoff, and unfortunately, the beef in both dishes was quite dry and tough. On the bright side, the steamed vegetables were fresh and well-prepared.

Rus Uz is an absolute gem for authentic Russian and Uzbek cuisine. Everything I tried was delicious, especially the soups — each one was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service was quick, friendly, and welcoming, which made the entire experience even better. If you’re looking for hearty, traditional dishes and warm hospitality, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Authentic Russian / Uzbek cuisine, service was A+ and very attentive wait staff. Portions are good and I believe it’s priced fairly, atmosphere was nice. I liked the decorations and made it feel like I was travelled to a different part of the world.

Definitely have to come back and try the Borscht or other location in Arlington.

⭐ 1-Star Review – Warning to Other Customers

This store sold me expired food, and that is absolutely unacceptable. The gingerbread cookies I purchased (Veselka Pryaniki) were clearly past the Best Before date: 27/11/24, yet they were still on the shelf being sold at full price.

Selling expired products is not only unprofessional — it’s a health risk. It shows a complete lack of responsibility, attention, and respect toward the customers who trust this business.

If a store cannot manage something as basic as checking expiration dates, then what else are they ignoring? Cleanliness? Storage temperatures? Safety standards?

I expect this issue to be taken seriously, and I strongly recommend other customers check every product before buying anything here. For now, I will not be returning, and I definitely do not recommend this place until they fix their quality control.

Somewhat hidden venue for authentic Russian and Uzbek collaboration of foods. The dining area is very elegant and has that familiar Russian atmosphere of “intending on leaving an impression”

Service is slower by American standards, so settle in and take your time. I would avoid going here if you are planning on seeing a movie at the theatre nearby after your meal. You can’t rush this style of dining.

Complementary kleb (bread) is served with sour cream before your food arrives which will be presented perfectly. Highly recommend this style of food if you are new and wanting to try Russian/Central Asian cuisine.

Would recommend.

The portions were large, which we appreciated. However, we ordered the Chicken Kyiv and the Olivier salad, and both dishes were disappointing. The Chicken Kyiv was quite dry, and the meat in the Olivier salad was tough. The mashed potatoes also tasted artificial, as if they weren’t made from real potatoes.

Overall, the quality of the food did not match our expectations.

Really great food and atmosphere. I went twice and really enjoyed it. The staff also all speaks Russian as well as English so it is a great place for language practice.

The food was so delicious we forgot to take pictures of it and ate right away! I appreciate the use of herbs and spices in every dish we’ve tried. I was surprised by plov a little bit, as it seems like the meat and rice were cooked separately and I was expecting more of a traditional style.

I came here with a group of adventurous eaters from a work conference. This might have been the best decision I’ve made in a while. We have the Plov, stroganoff, 5 fingers (can’t remember the actual name), and a appetizer which was meat in some dough. Everything was wonderfully delicious and don’t sleep on the flavored vodkas. The horseradish one might sound like a bad idea. It’s very floral, very smelling of horseradish but has the nicest umami flavor with very little intensity. The other guys got a couple fruity ones. The lemon and pepper and the ginger and mint okay. The only one that most of them weren’t into was the ginger and mint. I thought it was delicious. This place is worth checking out, it’s only the second time I’ve ever had Russian food and it’s the best
