Social Profile:

Runza Restaurants Serving real food requires a real commitment. It all begins bright and early each morning. Instead of serving breakfast, we’re making homemade bread dough from scratch. We’re hand-slicing onions. We’re shredding lettuce for our salads. We’re stirring up homemade chili and fresh ground beef filling for Runza® Sandwiches. It’s a labor-intensive process that doesn’t let up until long after closing time. We know there are easier ways to do all this, but our commitment to doing things the right way is as real as our food, and that’s not something we’re going to change.

Fast-food chain known for namesake German sandwiches, plus burgers, onion rings & crinkle-cut fries.

Runza sandwiches are one of Nebraskas most sacred secrets! Always fresh from the oven, the warm bread with a secret filling have been feeding people for almost 50 years. The best hamburgers, very crispy fries and HAND DIPPED ONION RINGS make any Runza restaurant a must stop when in the area!

I stopped into Runza not knowing exactly what to expect, but I walked out a believer. The Original Runza was the undeniable star of the show, a golden, perfectly baked pocket of dough filled with seasoned ground beef, sautéed onions, and tender cabbage. Sounds simple, but don’t let that fool you, it’s comfort food alchemy at its finest.

Each bite was warm, flavorful, and nostalgic, like something your Midwestern grandma would make if she had a culinary degree. The dough was soft with just the right chew, and the filling was both savory and satisfying without being greasy. It’s hearty enough to fill you up but not so heavy that you regret it afterward.

Service was friendly, the place was clean, and the menu had variety for when I want to mix it up next time. My only tiny critique? I wish the Original Runza came with a little more filling, it was that good. Still, this place is a gem, and that Runza? Worth the stop and the calories.

First time in Nebraska and first time having a Runza. It was fantastic. I had to go back and get two more a couple days later. Clean restaurant, good service and the fries were great, too.

It’s a Runza. For those that don’t know it’s a Nebraska thing. The sandwiches for which the restaurant is named after is a sub like sandwich filled with a meat, cheese, coleslaw. I hate coleslaw in most forms, but these sandwiches are good, & flavorful. They make nice little sandwiches you can throw in the freezer in foil, & warm up later. As for this particular store location, upon first “smell” it was very uninviting, very pungent to say least, especially around the food ordering area. The rest of the store in the sit down area was less noticeable. The other thing I couldn’t help but notice was 2/3rds of chairs in the sit down area were placed on the tables over an hour before closing, upon looking threw the windows I was thinking to myself is this place even open, then noticed the times on the door, but I still couldn’t help but do a double take. Times on door versus chairs on the tables. The cashier who took my order seemed half there, but my order was as I ordered, & when I got it it was fresh. I been to other Runza’s & gotten meals of lesser food quality then this place, so at least they got that. Still a far cry from my other experiences at the Broken Bow Runza, & other locations in the Lincoln area. So now you know what to expect coming here…

Came in and sat down for a quick bite. The food was hot and fresh. The restaurant was clean I even checked the restroom and it was stocked and cleaned well. The parking lot was litter free and outside trash cans were emptied. Everyone was friendly. All and all a pleasant visit.
