Was underwhelmed by lunch here…was fine, just nothing to rave about but was pleasantly surprised by dinner. There’s obviously not much around so slim pickings in Sugarbush…I thought the dinners were hearty and welcome after a long day of skiing. I had the meatloaf which came with lots of mashed potatoes. My son the steak frites which was a good portion and my other son the smash burger. Decent beer selection on tap and nice apres ski environment.

We really coming here, either for apres ski drinks and appetizers or dinner (heavy meals or salads all yum). Good for sitting outside during summer and cozy in the winter. Can’t go wrong.

Our go-to spot for dinner for every Sugarbush trip. We’ve never popped in for breakfast or lunch, so I can’t speak to those menus. However, I get the Mediterranean Bowl every dinner because it’s just that good. Their Maple Crème Brûlée is also to die for. We always get the best service here and the room itself is big and beautiful with a great view of the slopes. A must-try! Plus, as others have mentioned, the restaurant is named after the cutest Bernese Mountain Dog who is prominently pictured on the wall as soon as you walk in.
This review was made in connection with a Toast promotion.

We sat at the bar. The servers were kind, the charcuterie plate was served timely and delicious along with light alcohol drinks. However, a wonder we had when we went to sit at the bar and saw little kids bellied up with their parents drinking hard alcohol drinks and children eating kids food and playing on their electronic games is.., “Is this legal in Vermont?” We are surprised these parents weren’t required to sit down and away from the bar or at least at a table especially during adult after ski Apres’. Is there a county or state law here with an allowance for infants up through age 20 to be able to sit at a mixed drink/alcohol bar? Signed, Uncomfortable with this choice

I had the NY strip and my husband had the Gnocchi. Both were VERY good. My daughters ordered chicken strips which were over cooked and dry. Service was not good. At 3:50 we were handed a lunch menu without being given the option to wait for dinner menu at 4 until we inquired. One of my daughters got a Shirley Temple which was made incorrectly or there was no carbonation left in the machine- so we just asked to switch to a Rootbeer which was no problem but it took probably 20-25 min for her to bring it. Our appetizer came out of the kitchen before we got our drinks. (We got wings-very good). Just a lot of small things added up and when you’re paying $200+ for a family of 5 to eat out, I’d prefer a bit better service. Like I said the adult meals and appetizer were delicious, was just the service.

1/1/2022 for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised. The Autumn Bounty salad with honey mustard dressing was very good. Plenty for two to share. Both pasta, Wild Mushroom Pappardelle and Pumpkin Squad Ravioli, were in cream sauce. A non-cream based option would be nice. Cheesecake and key lime pie were both made in-house and very good.
Communication with the restaurant is difficult (impossible). No one answers the phone and no answering machine. You are directed to the website for reservations, which doesn’t work and you are told to call the restaurant.
Visited again on 11/20/21. New menu! The kale Caesar is great. Loved the tuna tartare. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits. Both desserts – blueberry cheesecake and choc mousse cake are very good.
Ordered takeout online. The brussels were good but a little salty. Rumbles Greens salad was a good size for sharing. Lots of great flavors. The polenta and the gnocchi were okay. A whoopie pie is sharing size and just okay – more like biscuits than cake, dry and crumbly. Wine by the glass $15. A lot of outdoor seating and fire pits. Will try again, ordering differently.

Went in with a group of 5 of us. We were immediately seated without a reservation. I ordered the steak, medium, and had a couple of Jamesons. Generous pour on the drink which I appreciated. The steak was a little over cooked. It came with fries which were really just okay. I will say the creme brulee was really good, definitely try that. The rest in the party had the hamburgers which they said were really good. For the price point I should have ordered the burger. Our server was informative and friendly. Overall it was good experience but not a 5 star experience imo. Nice for dinner after a hard day of skiing.

We went off season two times. First for a nightcap and fries, was excellent. Came back for dinner, not as good. This place excellent as a bar. For restaurant better going somewhere else. The food just didn’t do the atmosphere justice.
We will return for drinks and beers for sure.

I have a lot to say about this place, let’s start with the positives. The inside of this restaurant is incredibly stunning and very comfortable. Also the managers were quite nice to us while we were dining.
Unfortunately the service was painfully slow, it took around 40 minutes to get our food (mind you, there weren’t many people in the restaurant while we were dining). To add insult to injury, they served our appetizers and entrees at the same time, which is a big no-no for me.
My “Chicken on a Brick” dish was very delicious, the honey Sriracha sauce complemented the chicken well. I can’t say many good things about my garlic Parmesan fries though. They were so salty that I thought I would have a stroke while eating them. I couldn’t get myself to finish the fries, and I never waste food!
My father ordered the salmon rice bowl he said that it was great! Unfortunately the salad he ordered had no dressing on it.
One thing you NEED to know before coming here is that it is a cashless establishment, meaning you must have a credit card to buy food from here. I know at least one person out there must not have a credit card, so if you dined here, you would be in big trouble.

Rumble’s Bistro & Bar is the nicest restaurant within Sugarbush. It’s located in the Claybrook hotel, which is a short distance from the lifts at Mt. Lincoln. The food and service here has always been excellent the handful of times that we have eaten Rumble’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This is a great place for apres, too, after a long day of skiing, but the best part about this restaurant is its name. The name Rumble was given to this establishment in honor of the owners dog!
