My family and I went to Rum & Tequila for brunch at a friend’s recommendation! What a treat!!! We arrived about 5 minutes before opening and were greeted by Carla whom graciously opened the doors. She indicated that we would be served Brunch drinks by Kay shortly after set up was completed. While waiting, Carol went over the menu items and then Kay informed us about the brunch flights that were offered. We weren’t expecting too much but when Kay arrived with our fights….BOY OH BOY! What an experience! My family member had the margarita flights and I had the summer flight (which was a collaboration of beverages mixed with top shelf drinks). We placed our food orders and were even more pleased with our selections of chicken and waffles, red snapper and a vegetarian dish. As we were eating, the DJ arrived and began playing music to further enhance an already stupendous experience. This place is quite a Bridgeport treasure and we look forward to returning!!☺️

I was so surprised. I happen to come Halloween 2021. On the outside I got this Latin vibe but once inside it has this West Indian/ Latin vibe; decorated in Halloween props like spider webs on the walls, a costumed model that you could take pics with and a DJ. There were a couple of guests dancing amidst dining tables lol. It was definitely a festive vibe.
Our waiter was also the bartender and I was surprised how she handled that. We didn’t wait for a request, she was attentive. Fantastic!
The food took such a long time to come out, I believe about an hour wait. When it did come it was warm, not smoking hot 🙁
I must say the food here was the best West Indian food I ever had in my life! My rice & peas where done so well; the grains were flaky soft, the peas where firm but melted in your mouth and there’s were pieces of ginger in the rice cooked right in! My fish was well done and steamed, covered in some of my favorite veggies like pumpkin, okra, carrots, onions, red sweet peppers & green sweet peppers. Plus the side salad gave my dish such such a fresh, green touch. I love the food here!!

The bartenders don’t want to work. I asked for a Blue Point Toasted lager and got served what it tasted like a tap line that desperately needed to be serviced and cleaned and the beer didn’t taste the way it should have. I was also told beer on tap was happy hour for $4-5, I got charged for $8. Tip was automatically added, I wouldn’t have tipped 20% for the service I was provided. Maybe 10%, I was ignored for awhile when I was trying to ask for my tab.

Found this place while trying to figure out a place to eat near the Stress Factory Comedy spot and it did not disappoint. As soon as we went in Natasha greeted us from the bar along with smiles from the other servers and bartenders. Ordered the Chicken tostones, Pineapple Salmon, Beef Empanadas both with Rice and beans…and everything was incredibly tasty. Natasha made me these spicy jalapeño margaritas to die for and she was so sweet with us and offering up other drinks to try…she was great. Vivian (I believe) our waitress was just as kind, attentive and offered up some advice on the comedy place next door. When you first drive by you can’t tell if this place is open but I think it’s because of the window coverings..so we almost didn’t stop…we went around a second time just in case and decided to give it a try and so glad we did. We are definitely going back and can’t understand why this place isn’t more packed than what it was…and by the way good music…a little bit of current and old school, hip hop, rnb, reggae…even Spanish music…it’s a 45min drive and I will definitely be making it again.

Place was nice, food was good, good drinks, service was a bit slow to our table & it wasn’t crowded. Had a good time, will go back again. However. They seem to have a particular “vip” table that isn’t marked as such. I think it would serve them well to mark that off somehow to not let us customers have to move.

I went with my daughter. The atmosphere was nice. I had the spicy salmon rasta pasta and the pasta wasn’t spicy. The salmon was honey glazed, that was good. My daughter had the sliders and beef tacos, she loved it. The chairs were uncomfortable and the waitress was very on point. I would definitely visit again.

Had a great evening at Rum and Tequila tonight with co workers. It’s our go to place for gatherings and they never disappoint. Great food and service as usual. Really enjoyed our Holiday celebration!

I love Rum & Tequila, I usually go here for happy hour or a late solo date, i’ll bring a friend or two other times, or come out for the vibes but the service is always amazing & the food? the jerk pork is my favorite, the shrimp tostones are delicious, the wings, what I appreciate is that they consistently deliver everytime, 10/10!
