A sneaky, tropical tiki bar centered around prohibition-era cocktails and rum running. Hidden behind Tequila Butcher in Chanhassen.

Had a great time for an impromptu date. Wide ranging rum selection. Tiki purists may find ways to criticize but it hit the spot and was exactly what I was looking for.

Drinks ordered: Mai Tai (classic recipe, criticism is that I had a slice of lime instead of the rum lime boat), Crimson Tide(anise forward and delicious), Norwegian Paradise (fun twist), and two rum sniffers to try new (to me) rums.

Food ordered: pork empanadas (delicious)

Service: we didn’t receive waters until a second bartender showed up (also happened to the couple next to use), and we had to ask for silverware.

We walked in on a Saturday night to an empty bar. We’re then told we had to go back out and talk to the host to be seated. Found the bar tenders to be short with us while trying to make a decision. Felt like a place for the kids, drinks come out in cute funny glassware, and are super sugary drinks! The bar does have tons of other spirits, but no price list for anything but the rum. Will not be going back

From the very beginning of entering this bar, it was anything but Tiki. The vibe, music, and bartender were wrong and then the drinks… hollow shells of what real tiki culture drinks are.

Also a cardinal rule of tiki (and any bar): if you are reading the specs of your own “signature” drinks and riffs on classic-established drinks.. that is a bad sign for any bar, not just tiki.

If you are a tiki enthusiast, I would stay far away, buy the Smuggler’s Cove cocktail manual and make it at home for a better experience.

0/10 would recommend. What a shame and sham.

We hosted an event at Rum Row and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. The drinks and food were excellent, and the speakeasy vibe was a hit with all of our guests. Chad and his team made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. Couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Highly recommend Rum Row for any event!

Hit or miss. Some of the drinks and food are great and some are just meh or not good. Examples of what we liked was the shrimp, the Ruben and the wings (we did try everything). The run menu is insanely long (see images) so if rum is your thing this is the place for you. Service was great and although this is a underground basement it did not feel like it. We had a big group so we got the little private room. Some had to park far due to lack of parking. They do not take reservations.

Went to the soft opening and it was so much fun! The bartender was dressed as a shark for Halloween and was having such a great time making our drinks. He really embraced the tiki atmosphere and made it so enjoyable. Not to mention the drinks were PHENOMENAL! Would recommend trying the Hoochee Koochee drink. We will definitely be going back!

Very cool find!

I’m a big rum fan so this was a great find. Right off the bat, aesthetically everything looks amazing. Decor makes you feel like you’re somewhere else entirely and the drinks are presented very well. All the drinks we had were great and our server was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back soon to try some food off of their limited menu.

Arrived about 30 minutes before closing on a Friday night to check out the speakeasy. The main restaurant was fully operating and there were still people inside, so it appeared open. We waited outside, then tried to ask through the window and were told they were closing. There was no signage or communication explaining this. The experience felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which was disappointing given the reputation of the place.

Been’ there
Below average 😉 The drinks have more ice than the ice left in the North Pole. This is a small town feeling, suburbia at its best but overall it’s not top notch by any stretch of the imagination. Lower your expectations because this place is definitely imperfect to put it in a nice way. Some of the other reviews describe the problems. I’m not very open on going back but perhaps in the future I can try it again.

The team was so amazing. Loved everything about this place and highly recommend. The drinks on the menu are good but the bartenders are even more talented and the drinks they make off menu are GREAT!
