Rufino’s Italian Restaurant is another hidden gem type of traditional Italian restaurant in Anaheim area.

Definitely have to order their Caprese, probably the best one I’ve ever had, buffalo mozzarella on top of tomato, with sprinkles of basil and capers, especially the capers spice up the entire Caprese.

Followed by Scampi Arrabiata, definitely one of the best pasta I’ve ever had, most importantly is the jumbo shrimps cooked in spicy tomato sauce, totally brings up the taste to each other, with Al Dante pasta served along, just amazing .

Instead of pizza , ordered their Chicken Parmesan sandwich , also another top notch, not just the chicken parmesan with tomato sauce, but also the way they put the entire sandwich into oven for grilling, chesse well melted and the bread is also well toasted.

A no brainer 5-star Italian restaurant.

We had a great experience at Rufino’s Italian Restaurant. The pasta was cooked perfectly — I ordered the Linguine al Burro and it was really good. The basil was a little crispy and it could’ve used a touch more parm, but overall it was flavorful and satisfying. One of the other pasta dishes at our table came out a bit watery, possibly from the pasta not being fully drained or from the vegetables used, but it didn’t take away from the overall meal.
The food itself was very good, and our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with recommendations. This is definitely a spot to check out if you’re in the area and looking for home-cooked Italian meals. The only small suggestion would be a little more salt to add depth to some of the dishes. We’d gladly come back.

Food was pretty good but service was terrible. She was annoyed with any questions or requests. God forbid we need a refill, we ask nicely, smile, say please and thank you. She grabs our cup like we’re asking her to put one of her kidneys in it. Uncomfortable experience to say the least. It’s a shame because we are locals and would return regularly if we were treated half way decently. Thankfully, Mama Cozza’s is right down the street where they treat you way better and the meal also includes the other courses with no extra charges like at this place. Whoever the lady is that was serving us should seriously consider a change because she seemed like she was having a miserable time. She smiled and acted nice at the end though when it was time for a tip so she’s clearly capable of decent behavior. Shame.

Lady seemed nice, even upsold me on a pizza. The packaging was good for my to go order.

everything but the soup was by far the most sub par Italian food I’ve had in recent memory. Dry pizza, tomato sauce is way too acidic, dough is tough, gnocchi is not good, meatballs are eh. The tortellini soup was good.
I can tell things are made from scratch so I appreciate that. But I just want anyone who is coming through town and craving great Italian food to be aware. It really bummed us out.

They seemed to be well priced. I am not complaining about what it cost and it could feed several people, if that’s what they chose to eat.

If you’re expecting to get full for a reasonable price, come here. If you want good Italian food, idk where to suggest around here but this place is not it.

This place was so cute, the server was nice and attenative without being weird, bread was delicious, salad good, eggplant delicious, lasagna also so good, the gnocchi was not the best, fried calamari was ok (a bit overdone) but I asked for it instead of the other noodles that came with the eggplant, the canolli was excellent and the Gelato perfect too. Would eat there again if we lived nearby.

Service was excellent. Our server Adam, was awesome and attentive. Unfortunately, my chicken wasn’t cooked through all the way and I couldn’t really eat it. The flavor of our food was very good though.
They also did take it off the bill but still disappointed. I hope they can be better about the in the future. My husband’s food was cooked right though!

My husband and I ate here out of pure curiosity. We were in the mood for Italian food but are sick of olive gardens terrible pricing and customer service. We’ve tried other places as well but the food and customer service haven’t compared to Rufino’s Italian Restaurant. From the beginning the manager Mike greeted us with open arms. And not to mention the restaurant felt so homey. The night we went it wasn’t packed or loud. It was a cute romantic spot. Our server Jasmine was sweet from the beginning to end. The service was quick. I’m so use to waiting for maybe an hour for our food to finally get to us at the local Olive Garden. Here we waited maybe 20ish minutes and our food was hot and fresh. My husband had lasagna which is to die for. It’s perfectly seasoned and super melt cheese. The portion was great. I had the spaghetti Sicilian that comes with zucchini’s and eggplants. It was absolutely delicious. Each entre comes with a choice of a salad or soup. Based on the food and customer service I would hands down recommend to check this cute place out. Definitely better than Olive Garden

I am a Chauffeur and I enjoy supporting Mom and Pop restaurants, Italian is one of my favorites. I was searching for pizza and stumbled upon Rufino’s via google maps. So I checked some of the reviews and found that they were very good so I decided to call. I was looking over the menu and found “Homemade Lasagna” and definitely hadn’t had that in such a long time. Ordered that with extra sauce and the side ceaser. I was able pick it up because they are in a strip mall and plenty of parking. I arrived and I asked if I could sit down and eat even though I had ordered to go. Rosa said yes and I ate right out of the to go boxes.
The ceaser dressing was delicious, the homemade bread and lasagna was delicious. If you’re looking for some Italian food, this is the place. Because it was close to closing I was the only one seated eating. They were finishing up their daily operations.
Rosa checked on me several times and ensure that I didn’t need anything else. I will be coming back again because the food is delicious. You will not go wrong here. Thank you. Limodriver30
