Have driven past this location dozens of times over the years but just never got around to trying til this past May and was a delightful first experience.

They were busy at the time and the hostess informed me in advance that they were short-staffed with servers and in the kitchen if I remember correctly but the wait on the delicious food was well worth it.

When it comes to Italian dining, this is definitely the way I like doing it. The vibe doesn’t need to be romantic & candlelit, white tablecloth or with a massive winerack in the background.

Ruffolo’s is nothing fancy with friendly welcoming service serving up delicious Italian eats at fair prices in a clean bustling environment and we loved it. You can even get your game on here with the slots.

We only live maybe 15 minutes SW in Beach Park on the Wadsworth border but sadly I’m a foodie so I’m constantly exploring new venues so time will tell for the next visit but we’ll definitely return. Hope for decades of boomin’ business to come for the owner(s).

I had the 4 piece, all dark meat, chicken dinner with a side of angel hair pasta with oil & garlic. The chicken was very crispy and moist. The pasta was made just right. It is something I grew up with. It’s obvious different than your normal marinara sauce. For me it was a taste of growing up. I also treated myself to an ice cold beer!!! Samuel Adam’s Octoberfest!!!

Old style bar with large tvs to watch a game or movies with the locals. Basic tables and boothes that use paper mats at all seating. Traditional Italian meals. Outdoor rear seating are picnic tables. Ramp entrance at rear. Friendly customer service. Gravel lot for additional parking in back.

It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but this is a beloved staple just over the Wisconsin border. Staff is always friendly, and the place really has a hometown vibe. Food is delicious and prices are reasonable. This is certainly the spot where the locals frequent!

Food was ok, pizza was good, we order bbq chicken, got buffalo and when we requested to get bbq the correct the chicken was still cold n bbq sauce just dump on the chicken, the waitress shake her head n just talk under her breath, not my issue if she could get the right order. We waited several minutes just to order , again several minutes for water refill and simple check. Very disappointed compare to the Ruffalos in Kenosha. Just wasted $80 for very mediocre service n food

CAUTION: Terrible customer service but decent pizza. Our family has been customers—and family friends of Rich—for over 20 years. We’re in town visiting, and my boyfriend and his mom hyped this place up as “the best pizza I’ll ever have,” so I was genuinely excited to try it.

My boyfriend called to place the order and specifically asked for the house special deep dish (“pan”) pizza, explaining multiple times that they’ve been ordering it for years and wanted to be sure it was the deep dish style. The girl taking the order stated they only offer thin crust or hand-tossed, and said hand-tossed was the thickest option. At no point did she mention or offer the pan style. (Important note for future customers: you have to explicitly ask for pan—it is not offered as an option.)

When we received the wrong pizza, we immediately called back to calmly fix the issue and even offered to return the incorrect one. During this call, the same employee spoke negatively about us to her manager while still on the line—we heard everything.

We then spoke with Anthony (Manager), who did not offer a real solution and instead defended the employee, insisting she offered pan style when she absolutely did not. He said “are we just going to go back and forth?”when explaining the story to him. We clearly and calmly explained the order again. His solution was to remake the pizza but charge us an additional $3 upcharge for the pan—despite the mistake being on their end.

We also asked multiple times to speak with Rich, who we know personally and who was confirmed to be there, both to say hello and to address the issue. Our requests were repeatedly denied, and we were refused any contact with him.

At this point, the situation felt so uncomfortable and unprofessional that we were genuinely uneasy about even picking up the replacement pizza incase they were to spit or mess with it. It was very clear they disliked us as customers.

I’ve never left a bad review before, but the lack of accountability, poor communication, and unprofessional behavior made this experience extremely disappointing—especially given our long history with this business.

Rich we still wish you the best for you business and hope you are doing well. Sorry we weren’t allowed to speak with you. (P.S I did not get the girls name she was at the front with brown hair/thin incase you need to speak with her)

Went here for dinner the other night with my parents. The hostess was very friendly. The warm bread that came with the meal was delicious. And that is about it in terms of positives from our experience there.

The food was mediocre. My Mom ordered
the Pasta Carbonara; it was too cold to enjoy, and since our waitress was seldom seen, she waited until she got home to eat it. My dad ordered the Stuffed Shells & I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo…both of which were just okay, but at least were warm.

Our waitress, seemed to be overworked…she was moody/snippy in her interactions with us, and it took an incredibly long time for her to come check on us throughout our entire time there. I could go on more about the service, but maybe our waitress was having a bad night, so I’ll end it with that.

Chicken parmesan and house salad was delicious. We also had pizza. The pizza was good but not one of favorites. My personal preference is a bit more sauce and a more flavorful crust.

Had a large gathering for a family reunion and the food was excellent, service was really good, and the place is really nice overall. My grandmother who paid was happy with the price too. This is a favorite of everyone who lives nearby.

First time here. As someone who’s lived in Chicago in little Italy his entire life. Living in Wisconsin, finding good food let alone Italian food hasn’t been easy. With Covid, insane taxes, increase in food and ingredient cost it was glorious to see good quality food and a good price.

Had to take a star off for being closed on a monday and a Tuesday.

The pizza with typical Chicago style thin crust. Very happy with the pizza. Next time ill try the pasta. The restaurant was packed I was shocked. Very cozy place. Everything I asked for ao got. I asked well done pizza I got it! I will be returning. Thanks
