We went here for lunch today. Service and food were outstanding! Everything was so flavorful! My boyfriend started having a mild panic attack (no one’s fault, just happens sometimes) and our server was super accommodating. She made sure we had everything we needed to box up our food. She even brought us extra salsa to take home. I wish I’d caught her name because we would definitely ask for her next time we come back! This was our first experience at Rudy’s and it absolutely will not be our last! Great job all around! Keep up the awesome work!

Still, after 20 years in KCMO (and now a west coast’er), Rudy’s remains my favorite Mexican restaurant in all of Kansas City.
When back, I always make sure I stop by and say hello to our friends at Rudy’s. The bar is small and intimate but worth a seat to say hello to the barkeeps who are all so very polite. The chips and salsa are the best in Kansas City and the food is always served hot. Not once have I had anything less than an awesome experience.
The drinks are strong, the portions are huge, the food is delightful, and it’s cheap! They are really a must-do when in the Kansas City metro.
Thanks to Rudy’s for being my favorite Mexcian restaurant in KC for 20 years. I’ll miss ya but for sure make a stop in every time I’m back to visit!

As visitors to KC, we had a fantastic experience at this local Mexican restaurant! The owner, Rudy, greeted us as we walked in, and he made us feel so welcome! We ordered special Mango-Strawberry frozen margaritas… and they were muy bueno! The food was excellent and were very large portions. They also provided live musicians to go along with the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant !

When you walk in you’re greeted with lovely host & wait staff. The place is quaint & cozy. I was there for happy hour & got espinaca to start. It was very mild & not very flavorful. In contrast, the salsas were very tasty! One spicey & one mild. The chips were light & crispy! I got the barbacoa street tacos. Omg… so good!! The meat was very tender with lots of flavor.
Our waitress was very sweet & on the ball with getting our order, explaining the menu, specials, etc…
I gave it 4 stars bc of the mid dip.
I will definitely go back for something else & bring more friends. A def stop on the list.

I’ve been going here every once in a while for over 30 years. Always consistent food, and family run.
The same staff I always see is friendly. Make you feel like you go there all the time. Try anything on the menu. It’s all good!
