We were driving around trying to find a place that didn’t have an hour+ wait to eat, and Rudy’s Tacos saved the day.

A true QC institution. Tacos are great! I don’t get here very often, but every now and then I have a craving for the hard shell tacos and I drive the two blocks to get my fix.
This night I walked in at around quarter till 8. Nobody else was dining and I could tell the three employees wanted to leave. As I started back out to my car I was assured they could get me some quick tacos though.
And quick they were. Delicious too. These are the sort of tacos that you probably grew up eating on taco night at home. Ground beef with lots of “taco” seasoning, lettuce, tomato, and “cheese”. They’re about as inauthentic as they come, but they sure are tasty.
The general atmosphere supports this sort of food too. The walls are a shade of yellow slightly lighter than the cheese on the tacos, the carpet is that thin sort some restaurants used to have 40 years ago, and the outside looks like stucco but maybe isn’t? I don’t know – I also don’t care. The tacos are delicious and I’m coming when I want them.
Just to be clear, none of this is sarcastic. I legit like the tacos here. Just being abundantly clear on that point.
I look forward to my next kinda late night taco run to Rudy’s. Thanks for continuing to be the iconic Quad Cities institution that you are Bettendorf Rudy’s Tacos. I’ll see you next time.

Absolute garbage! Avoid this place.
I order two burritos to go. They were so small (about the size of a taco) and only came with chicken and cheese. No lettuce or tomatoes! It’s worse than school cafeteria food. Had I checked the food before I got home I would have demanded my money back.

First time being in this one in awhile. Seems nothing much has changed since. Service was a bit slow and the atmosphere isn’t welcoming. I did the Taco bar at 230pm on a Saturday and was charged dinner prices… That kinda sucked. I think that should start at 430p. Anyway, it Was ok for a quick fix, but I probably won’t be back in this one.

This is the best Rudy’s to go to in the QC! They have a all you can eat taco bar that includes rice and beans, enchiladas, chips n salsa, soup, cottage cheese, dessert!

when we arrived there was a toddler sitting on top of the bar. Was not even greeted when we got in. The taco bar was horrible. The soft shells were ice cold, the chips were stale, beans were dry and extremely cold, the hot cheese was watery and empty,lettuce was brown,most topping were empty, the pink dessert tasted like a mix of cough syrup and spoiled milk. All other desserts were empty. The waitress barley came around and they ended up running out of plates. There was only 1 family plus mine eating. Will never go there again.
