Brisket was tough flavorless, not taste to it tough like beef jerky. Turkey was high on pepper side. Sausage was ok but I have bought better sausage at stores better taste. Potato salad was great and cream corn good. Sorry Rudy’s won’t be coming back.

This was my second visit to Rudy’s at this particular location. I am unsure why the ratings for this place are not higher. On both occasions, I found the staff to be very kind and attentive. The baby back ribs and smoked chicken were tender and flavorful. The brisket was okay. I would not order the banana pudding again, as its texture and taste were weird and not fresh.

What is going on with this place? We’ve come here many times in the past and it’s always been so good, which is why today was so disappointing. When we went in around 2:00 in the afternoon, everything we were served was cold, and we were told they were already out of brisket. Nothing tasted the way it normally does.
We ended up paying $87 for a meal that just didn’t meet the standard we’re used to. Come on, Rudy’s Bar-B-Q — please take care of Selma. We know you can do better because we’ve experienced how great it can be. We love you guys and hope this was just an off day.

Brisket sandwich had 3 pieces of what looked like boiled meat with a whitish color. Tried to speak to a manager lilibeth she did not want to come to the phone.very unprofessional of her telling the employee to tell me they don’t give refunds I didn’t ask for one. Instead of handling the complaint like a manager should she chose to ignore my call. Had I known it was so bad there I would have never ordered nor will I recommend it on the contrary I will tell everyone I know to never go there.

Rudy’s BBQ near Randolph Air Force Base serves up some seriously flavorful brisket that’s always perfectly smokey. What sets this location apart is the cool vibe in their dining area, decked out with local air force memorabilia and historical photos of the base. It’s a great spot to soak in some local history while enjoying a delicious meal. Plus, they show love to the military community by offering discounts to military and veterans. During the visit, it was noted that veterans of the Korean War, Vietnam War, and WWII got free BBQ – now that’s some serious hometown hospitality. With great food, good vibes, Blue Bell ice cream, and Shell gasoline available at the pump, it’s easy to make this Rudy’s a personal favorite.

It was eerily quiet for a 12 noon lunch but better for us. Ordering can take a while because only one person cuts and weighs for everything. Wasn’t a fan of the Mac because it wasn’t cheesy and super Al dente. The brisket is what I came for anyway. Plenty of disabled spots near the front. Friendly service. Save your $ and get a fountain drink inside instead of a glass bottle outside. Military and first responders eat free

Number one, turkey is amazing! Very tender and juicy! Their own BBQ sauce is really savory. It’s a good blend between sweet and spicy. Their ribs are great swell. Go getchu sum! 10/10

I feel kind of bad because the staff were quite nice but that brisket.. wow. This was without a doubt, the most horrible brisket I have ever been served in Texas. It was so tough and dry that I seriously couldn’t even cut it using the plastic knives they provide. I had to tear it apart with my hands. I’m not exaggerating, it was more like a few slices of beef jerky than Texas style brisket. Couldn’t even come close to finishing it. I make better brisket at home in an oven and honestly I make pretty terrible brisket. Maybe the rest of the food is okay but I’ll never know.

First to say is the staff working here at Rudy’s Country Store and BBQ are very friendly and helpful. The BBQ is delicious and has a nice menu selection. The Half Chicken had a smokey flavor taste, the Brisket was cooked perfectly and enjoyable, the Baby Back Ribs were delightful, and the Jalapeño Sausage was juicy and tasty. The sides like the Cream Corn and Potato Salad were excellent too. This place may be hard to get to with the highway construction going on but well worth navigating to.

It disheartens me to see other reviews, which in my opinion, does not match the quality of food and the quality of service that I received today. Is the food a little more expensive than other places, not for the quality that you get. My girlfriends and I spend around $50 for lunch which include 3 types of meet, brisket is our favorite and the turkey was amazing soft and juicy and a jalapeño sausage link. We had three drinks and we both got a dessert.
The true rating should be around 4.5 – 4.7. Keep up the great working and keeping the quality standard high.
