We’ve eaten at Rudy’s plenty of times without any issues. Unfortunately, yesterday was a big letdown.
We spent $165 on food for a family get-together and was really disappointed.
Our order was 3 lbs of brisket, sausage links, corn on the cob, creamed corn (which we didn’t receive), beans, potato salad, four desserts, and four root beers.
The brisket came chopped into large chunks instead of sliced. It was tough, chewy, and dry, nothing like the moist brisket we’ve had there before. The regular and jalapeño sausage both had extremely thick, tough casings. We had to pull the sausage out of the casing just to eat it.
I’m not sure what happened with this order, but paying $165 (with $90 of that for brisket alone) did not match the quality we received.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST BBQ IN GILBERT/MESA/CHANDLER!!! My wife and I got a to-go order of moist brisket and two 1/2 chickens. Our server was a really nice guy named Ben S., and he introduced us to the BBQ Pit maestro “Eli,” and I have to tell you, the food was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Way better BBQ than most of the local “overpriced” pits in the area. If you love Texas BBQ and you want the very best in AZ, this is the place….TRUST ME!!! Try the moist brisket with the original sauce, WOW!!! 5 out of 5 STARS!!!

First time at Rudy’s BBQ and it definitely lived up to the hype. Amazing food, the brisket was incredible. Nice staff, great service, and a super unique atmosphere that you don’t see at most restaurants. Everything was quick, friendly, and delicious. 10/10 highly recommend!

It’s always been fun to host and enjoy Rudy’s. Rather, it is a baby shower birthday party after a church service. Or a retirement party event. It has always been a pleasant atmosphere. So very inviting, and it’s enough to fit a church family and then some.. I love this place ❤️

We tried the two chopped brisket sandwiches for $9.75 (the Tuesday deal). It was a tasty and filling option for dinner, and the price was unbeatable. Great atmosphere and service, as usual. We love this place!

Let me start off by saying we have been going to Rudy’s for years. We recently moved to Arizona from Central Texas and Rudy’s was a staple for us back in Texas so we were excited when we saw that Arizona had several. . We have gone to a couple here in Arizona and they’ve all been great. Today was the worst experience I’ve had at a Rudy’s. I left very frustrated which doesn’t typically happen at Rudy’s. Idrove 2 hours to go there because my husband wanted to provide Rudy’s for his PD potluck. I ordered 10 pounds of brisket. Five of it was moist five of it was not. The moist brisket was not moist at all. It was actually horrible so I am very frustrated about that since we bought so much and it’s not like it’s cheap. When the cashier was checking me out, I asked him if we could use the law-enforcement discount since I was purchasing the food for law-enforcement.
This Rudy’s absolutely refused, all of the other Rudy that I’ve gone to if I’ve asked that from here to Texas have had no problem. This was one of the reasons why my husband wanted to bring Rudy’s for his potluck. I will say the cashier wasn’t in anyway giving attitude or a problem or anything. It was a gentleman that was cutting the meat that was not happy with his life seemed very annoyed very frustrated.
I left pretty frustrated with my overall experience. I will definitely make sure that I do not go to that location again which stinks because that’s the one that I passed by more often than any of the others.

Overall, I had a good experience here.
The service was great. The Pulled pork sandwich was delicious. Coleslaw seemed a little dry, but otherwise good. The chocolate pudding was so delicious!
Tried both the BBQ sauce and Sissy sauce, they tasted exactly the same so not sure the difference there.

I went into Rudy’s, looking for someone to discuss catering. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. Went out of their way to help me. Gave me samples of anything that I wanted to taste. I decided to go with the brisket, the turkey and the regular sausage. The green chili stew, you smack your mama for that! That is the bomb. I didn’t care for the cream, corn or the potato salad. And the pulled pork it didn’t taste bad, I just didn’t have any taste. It was very bland. Which was a little disappointing for barbecue. But that’s OK. I’m not crazy about pulled pork anyway.
For sides, I went for the green chili stew and Rudy’s Beans. So overall, yes, there were some foods I didn’t care for, but that’s OK. You’re not gonna like every food every way you go. But I ordered what I loved and they are going to my birthday party! Thank you, Rudy’s!
