Tried Rudy’s in Midland for the first time today. I had been to Rudy’s in other cities, but first time in my local Midland restaurant. The service was great, kind and friendly. The food was on point, truly enjoyed it all. The atmosphere was good also, several people there but not too loud or crowded. Very clean tables and the condiment and drink areas were also clean. They even came by my table and picked up my basket and late my trash even. Overall GREAT experience and can’t wait to go back with my family and even some of my clients. Well done Rudy’s A+++++

Ordered moist brisket, it was dry. 2 meat sandwich was excellent and was the tater salad. Enjoyed the baby back ribs. Great tea.

The wait time was not long. They let you sample the meat before you try them. The potato salad is so so good. When we were having our so-called Texas Arctic weather and I knew I would be stuck in the house I had to go pick up the largest serving of potato salad. It was great!

This was our first visit to a Rudy’s. I will say it is a step above dickeys. Just the fact that they have prime rib is great. The prime rib was pretty decent. The sausage was better than I expected. The brisket isn’t the best. The line was out the door but moved quickly. I will definitely be back.

First time visiting and unfortunately will not be back… Dickeys is better in my opinion. Both my daughter and I got the pulled pork sandwich and only took a couple of bites, it was the worst pulled pork I have ever had. It was full of grease to the point that my bun was soaked. Not too sure why they have prices for 1/2 pound of meat when they can’t weigh out a half pound and you end up paying $7 more. The new potatoes were just that, plain red potatoes with zero seasoning. My husband and son both got brisket and said it was ok.. The banana pudding was good and the place had a good vibe going. Unfortunately for me the food was not up to par with the prices they charge. I feel I wasted $83 but you live you learn.

I ate at Rudy’s in college (College Station), and so I know what to expect. The brisket was not good – sucks. If you want that, go somewhere else. Everything except for the brisket is good here! Love the atmosphere, no-nonsense setup, the staff is awesome. Good turkey and sausage and the sauce – so good. They were also out of buttermilk pie – annoying but I am not docking them for it.

My first time going to this place was today. I will just say their food is terrible! I and my 2 friends went together, and as we ate our food, we noticed how dry the brisket was and how cold it got before we even sat down at our table. My friend who had the beans said they were really dry and seemed like canned beans. I honestly wish I could get my money back from this wasted experience! You’re better off going to HEB for BBQ. Don’t waste your money here for overpriced, dry, unseasoned food. Also, I got bad diarrhea from here after we were done!!

I love Rudy’s. It is average bbq at an average price. The people are great, the atmosphere is great. Do not expect 5 star bbq, and you will not be disappointed. This place is 5 stars, at being a 3 star place, at 3 star prices. Glad to have them Midland. Need places that are just decent, and semi affordable.
