We ordered online for pickup. The website had some duplicate menu items and it was not always clear as to what sides came with entrees. We ordered curry chicken, jerk chicken and jerk pork meals. We asked for mild jerk on both meals. All meals were great. They had one of the best plantains I have ever had. Chicken and pork was moist and well seasoned. Cabbage was well seasoned. My only complaint is that there was not enough beans in the rice and not enough plantains on the plate.

I ordered via Door Dash a curry goat platter, coco bread, and a beef patty. For the price, the portions were small. The platter only came with ONE little plantain. Taste-wise, the curry goat, rice/beans, and cabbage were okay, but I felt like it was not enough for $14. You will definitely not get full off of it. I was highly disappointed in the “coco bread” that looked and tasted like packaged sweet rolls from the store. This was NOT coco bread. The beef patty was okay. I will not be eating from this restaurant again.

The food was… okay. I’m from Atlanta were authentic Caribbean food is flavorful and plenty. I got curry goat (large) and my friend got jerk chicken (large). The curry goat was good, could’ve cleaned and seasoned the meat better, rice was over cooked for both of us. The jerk chicken taste like grill chicken with no real seasoning, or even jerk favor. Portions were small for a large. I was a little disappointed in the chicken because they have it smelling so good when I drive by. Maybe a different cook that day. Nice people though and cool decor.

Hello, my name is Jennifer Liz, I am an avid reviewer from New Jersey currently visiting NC. My Best Friend & I decided to order from this restaurant through Grubhub. The food was, to say the least, TERRIBLE! We ordered Oxtail, collard greens, Chicken tender w/French fries & Brown Stew Chicken. The Oxtail was tough with NO PEAS in the rice, and barely seasoned! Collard greens straight from a can with sprinkled pepper. They decided it was okay to give rice instead of french fries as advertised on the menu & receipt for the chicken tender platter. AND the worst being the Brown Stew Chicken, it was just plain browned chicken, no stew, no vegetables, no flavor, NO NOTHING BUT DRIED UNSEASONED BROWNED GROSS CHICKEN! I would have given this place a 0 star if I could. Worst Jamaican Food restaurant by far in all the years of my reviews. I absolutely will never recommend this place to anyone. We ordered from this place through DoorDash. First time ordering from this restaurant and 3 out of 5 of our items were missing. We called the restaurant and it’s obvious where their name derives from. I was told that all items were accounted for when they left the restaurant. The attitude was like “too bad, so sad.”
The food was bland and not good at all. My curry goat was rubbery and tough and the cabbage had no flavor. My girlfriend said her jerk chicken was bland and tasted dried out. Even though we’ve never had an issue with DoorDash, we called them and was given a partial credit. This was the worst “Jamaican” food I have ever tasted. We ended up not eating the rest of the food that was delivered and we went to Burger King instead. Sometimes simple is best. I do not recommend this place.

Ate twice here… Both times I went to the store and ordered at dinner time. 1st time I got a curry goat spicy… The goat was still partly tough, had an average flavor, the portions were good, however lacked the spiciness I asked for (3 stars). The second time I ordered jerk pork spicy and it was an absolute disappointment starting with the portion size, straight to the taste. The best part of this dish was the fried plantain (1 star). From my experience here, this a let down to the Caribbean flavors I grew up on.

Ordered jerk ribs was told they didn’t have so I got the boneless jerk ribs. It was slices of very fatty pork. The rice and peas…plain ole rice no peas. The plantain was good and so was the beef patty a star for each of those. My bro had curry chicken which was equally as bad. No sauce on the dry chicken. Both of our meals were VERY disappointing. We’re done.

The meats aren’t well seasoned nor is it cooked through abs through. I asked for oxtails. It supposed to come with rice & peas but al I received was rice abs gravy. The yams were hard and dry. My girl ordered the jerk and curry chicken. Both were dry ans under seasoned. I will not be visiting again.

Chicken was bland had zero curry taste and the cabbage was so salty i could barley eat it. I dont usually write reviews and generally dont get upset at the food i get. But this place was just bad. Plantains and rice were both okay though. Maybe the cooks just had a off day but man bad first impression.

First time there. Owner is very nice, she let me sample four entrees, all were great. Chose the curry goat (very tender) which comes with peas and rice, cabbage added mac & cheese (homemade) and warm coco bread. If you like spicy, they will prepare to your taste. Park in the back of the building. Its worth the short walk.
