Awesome place. In case you’re looking for the original, old fashion, handmade, heartwarming Cajun bakery products – here it is. Take the detour for sure.
The staff is super nice with a smile on their faces, even when you ask touristy questions.
Tip: when you walk in and you can’t spot the donuts, don’t be afraid. They are behind a magic door since – believe it or not- they are freshly made and still warm. Two types- glazed and chocolate. This is pure focus on the best!
The taste and texture: not as sweet as the usual donut which I really liked. Texture is way better than the franchise donuts. You taste and feel the manual work, ingredients and love that is going into their products.

Cannot say enough good, I mean great things about this bakery. Best wedding cake ever tasted…best anywhere including France. The service is beyond belief. One time we were delayed in traffic, yet, an employee was willing to wait an extra 30 minutes so that we might get our order en route home. I wish they were local, but then again, I would likely eat too much of their desserts.

I have been going to this bakery for as long as I can remember, and I’m fift-three years old. It used to be owned by a former neighbor of mine, Ms. Virginia. It was absolutely perfect then; however, not all of the original recipes are used anymore. I still love getting my birthday cakes and the chocolate eclairs; no one can beat those. Ruddock’s is legendary. It is still the best pastry that you can get in Crowley. My favorite: cake with pineapple filling.

Paid for a King cake on Friday to be picked up on Tuesday. When I received the cake it was very dry almost like it had sat out all weekend when I called no one answered. Overall the pastries are very good and they have the best donuts in town but I will not be ordering another cake.

Ruddocks has been a part of my life since I was a little girl.. From getting donut holes before church to sweet treat after Sunday dinner… it brings back some of the best memories of my childhood. I no longer live in Crowley, I have been gone for several decades BUT, every time I return home I go to the bakery for my sweet treat. My family ships me the sprinkle cookies quite often. Beaded cookies, glazed and chocolate donuts, delicious brownies, chocolate and custard filled eclairs, and so much more.. they are all comforting. The bakery is one of my first stops before I head to the house and it is the last stop I make when I am leaving town. Keep up the good work – – – and thanks for the memories!

We normally go for donuts, but we really wanted to try out their cakes and cupcakes for our wedding and maaaannn no complaints there. Im really not an icing person so i usually wipe most of it off but the cakes themselves were so fluffy and our my husband and my couples cake we did a naked icing version and it came out beautifully! We ordered super late because we didnt know it had to be 6 months in advance, but they really worked with us and everything came out fantastic. Thank yall!
