I want a Ruby Slipper where I live. I mean…this place is just amazing!! I visited for breakfast and ordered the St. Charles Chicken and Eggs Cochon eggs benedict along with Kings Cake Beignets.
I loved the food all around, the fried chicken on the St. Charles was still juicy inside and the braised pork on the eggs conchon was extremely tender. The Kings Cake Beignets were enjoyed, the blueberry compote with cheesecake added onto the dough just made for a delicious dessert after a hearty brekky.
I would come here again next time I visit NOLA!!

Just an all around great breakfast spot! The pancakes were probably some of the absolute best ones I have ever had!! The service was decent, they get REALLY busy in the morning, so they are understandably busy, but my waiter definitely didn’t check on us very frequently. I would absolutely recommend coming here for breakfast! Do yourself a favor and get the French Toast Bites appetizer…OMG!!

Ruby Slipper never disappoints! The hot chicken with French toast bites is my go to when I’m at home and dine at Ruby Sunshine (sister company). The lavender coffee was divine (not pictured), and the lavender mimosa was not bad either. The shrimp and grits were nice and creamy, full of flavor, the biscuits (wow). Service was amazing and friendly. The wait is typical but there is no where to wait and it was cold outside . Be very careful when walking around the restaurant as it is very very slippery (tip toe walking).

Ill be the first to say. I don’t just hand out 5s but this Ruby Slipper location was great.. We put our name on the waiting list before we went, got immediately seated. Our server ( nice Hispanic guy I think) very attentive.. Amazing service… Food was exactly how we ordered it… It also tasted great. Oh bathroom was clean too.. I would definitely go back.

I was greeted warmly at this Ruby Slipper, which is a few blocks down from Bourbon Street. I was seated around 7am at a table with my partner. The setting had adequate spacing to move around and not bother guests, and a bright atmosphere that makes you motivated to start your day.
We had a kind waitress who took our orders promptly, but from then on, service had greatly reduced in speed. I spotted our waitress tending to other customers as the place started filling up, and it seemed to be overwhelming, because it took a long time before I got drinks or food. Fortunately, once I was served, everything tasted incredible!
I had the White Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding Pancakes with a side of bacon, and I could drool just thinking back on its sweet texture. The chocolate melted right in my mouth, and didn’t overpower the bread pudding portion of the pancakes. It was truly a breakfast I never had before then, and now I’m thinking of recreating it in my kitchen!
I also tried their Shrimp & Grits (cheese is optional). The grits was a little too runny for my liking; if it was just a tad thicker, it would be on the same level of greatness as the pancakes.
Once I finished my breakfast, I went to the restroom in hopes that the waitress would bring the check over to my partner. Many of the toilets were not working correctly as it took several flushes to remove waste. I warned the next person in line about this, and another guest responded to me saying, “My stall did the same thing!” This issue created a long line in the women’s restroom. Yet even with this disturbance, by the time I returned to my seat, the waitress STILL hadn’t come with our check!
Of course, we eventually found her and paid for our meal, but I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re looking for quick service. While the food was delectable, the experience was spoiled by this Ruby Slipper’s sluggish customer service.
If I return to New Orleans, I definitely want to eat at Ruby Slipper again-I’ll just consider trying a different location.

The food was delicious, the hostess was funny, and our waiter was the most amazing part of the experience. Roni E. was superb. We were sitting outside, and it was cold, and she let me use her sweater.

I feel like I’ve posted on this spot before, but it’s worth taking about again. New Orleans has more is share of great food places and The Ruby Slipper Is one of them. Everything I’ve tried has been great! I love the mimosa flight! It’s 4 different kind of mimosa. The best one (to me) is the blueberry lavender. This should be in your list of places to try.

We tried the biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits, and fried green tomatoes. Their biscuits by itself is sooo good. I would come back just for that. The gravy and chicken was pretty good too. Didn’t like the shrimp and grits that much but the fried green tomatoes were the best we had on the trip. Perfectly topped and with all the good stuff.

Skye was our sever and she was amazing! We were nervous about finding a place that could serve a family of 5 on New Years Eve, but this was perfect! Plenty of space and a great menu with something for everyone! The sweet heat chicken with french toast bites was my favorite and the mimosas were very fun! My husband enjoyed the Trifecta! Should have taken pics before we ate but it was too good to wait!

We ate here twice in a week on our vacation to New Orleans. No hype or recommendations caused us to go here. It was conveniently located close to our hotel. It was a very happy accident. The food is out of this world and the staff is amazing. The ladies made us feel welcomed and cared for. The prices are more than fair for how engorged our bellies were walking out of this gem. These folks cater to hungover drunks. The only downside of this place are the hung over drunks. Do not fault the Ruby slipper for the people who show up. They deserve your patronage regardless. The shrimp omelets are delicious and super filling, but the Benny’s are worth a whole trip back to New Orleans by themselves
