Okay, let me start by saying I rated the food a three — but I will go back. Let me explain…
The decor is adorable and super welcoming — a fun mix of rustic charm with a modern twist. I loved the digital screens that look like windows in the booths. The place smells amazing when you walk in, and everyone leaving looks full and happy. The staff couldn’t have been nicer — friendly, polite, and really helpful with recommendations. Portions are generous, so trust me, you won’t leave hungry!
Clean bathrooms!
Here’s what I tried:
• Fried Pickles: Fantastic — crispy, golden brown, and full of flavor.
• Cornbread with Maple Butter: Another winner. I could’ve eaten a dozen of these little clouds of goodness.
• Ribs: 7/10 — good flavor, but they seemed boiled before grilling, which isn’t my favorite style.
• Baked Beans: 10/10 — amazing! Deep, rich, perfectly seasoned — I heard it’s a family recipe, and it tastes like it.
• Creamed Corn: 7/10 — creamy and good.
• Mac & Cheese: 6/10 — fine, just didn’t wow me.
• Greens: 6/10 — decent but could’ve used a little more seasoning.
• House Sausage: 4/10 — not my favorite.
• Pulled Pork: 3/10 — on the dry side, even with sauce.
• Brisket: 1/10 — sadly, this was the big miss. Dry and lacking flavor, which was disappointing because I really wanted it to be great.
The bignets: HEAVY!!! If they sold them as fried biscuits it would’ve been a better idea. So heavy and salty thick center not pillowy soft and airy as they should be. Pretty golden brown though!
Overall, I actually really like this place. The atmosphere and service were excellent, and those beans and cornbread are reason enough to come back. Next time, I’ll try a few different menu items — and yes, I’ll be wearing my stretchy pants!
This is one of those nice restaurants with a history, you must visit in order to admire it’s beauty. The atmosphere is fun, lively music. It is inside is decorated with an 1800’s to 1900’s Western vintage cowboy architecture style.
Our first time eating at this restaurant. I highly recommend it!
My husband order the Brisket meat meal. I ordered the Smoking’ BBQ Salad with Brisket. Our son and daughter got the Brisket Fries and Brisket kids Slider. The food was absolutely delicious .
This particular BBQ restaurant knows how to elevate a Brisket salad into a gastronomic experience. A wonderful eatery for those planning and special celebration. The service was great too .
My husband and I first met them at a Wedding Expo where they were giving out free samples. We instantly fell in love with the food, but what really sealed the deal was the people. We met the owners, Nick and Jake, and also their server Amanda, who has clearly been part of their team for a long time. All three of them were so warm, welcoming, and full of personality — we hit it off immediately. Amanda was truly a STAR, Jake was incredibly sweet, and Nick was so cool (yes, with the cowboy hat ).
Nick even went above and beyond on the spot and brought out a HUGE brisket and started slicing it fresh right in front of us. We were talking and laughing so much that they invited us to the back where my husband got special brisket pieces — and they even let us take food home. That’s the type of heart they have.
After the expo, we scheduled a free tasting, and it was perfect. We went to their actual restaurant (which is beautiful, quiet, and intimate), and we got to taste everything on the menu. The food was fresh, the service was excellent, and the entire experience was top tier.
Jake was the main person I communicated with during the planning process and he was AMAZING. He always responded, always answered questions, and was so easy to work with. When some of our guests cancelled and our guest count dropped, Jake accommodated us without any stress. Instead of us losing money, they allowed us to add another item to our menu that we originally couldn’t afford — with no extra charge. That level of flexibility and care is rare.
On the wedding day, they arrived on time, set everything up smoothly, and our guests RAVED about the food. The brisket, the sides — everything was a hit. Even our venue staff complimented how great the catering was.
And as if they hadn’t already done enough, they surprised us with a wedding gift: 2 pounds of brisket just for me and my husband, served on our sweetheart table. We were so touched. It was one of the sweetest, most thoughtful things any vendor did for us.
If I could give Ruby Red’s BBQ a 10/10, 20/20, 100/100, I would. Their customer service, food quality, professionalism, and genuine kindness are unmatched. We will absolutely be using them for every event we have in the future — and even just as regular restaurant customers.
If you’re considering them for catering OR just want a great meal, do it. You will NOT regret it.
