The look of the place is fun and wild. There was definitely a vision for this place and it made it fun. Atmosphere wise.. it was a mess. We came around 8-8:30pm and there were kids and their parents running and screaming everywhere. There wasn’t much seating as families took up the tables. If that isn’t your vibe don’t come here. We tried their “boujee nachos” which were $27!! Nothing boujee about it. A complete ripoff. Cheap ingredients, small portions, and the meat was cold. The pretzel bites were no better.
Ruby Lou’s is amazing. The vibe is colorful, upbeat, and genuinely fun without feeling out of control. It’s lively in the best way, and the whole concept feels creative and well thought out.
The owner was there and was incredibly welcoming, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. You can tell there’s real care behind what’s being built there.
We had a great time, the energy felt positive, and everything felt organized and intentional.
I’d encourage people to experience it for themselves instead of relying on a few opinions. We’ll absolutely be back.
The claw machines were a blast, and the ice cream was super fun too. It really feels like an experience, not just a place to eat.
We’ve heard they’re working on expanding and improving their unique cocktail menu so stay tuned and perhaps stick to the wine and beer for the time being.
That said, it’s such a unique and exciting spot that we’ll definitely be back once it’s been running a little more smoothly. Overall, such a cute and magical place to visit! Daisy the owner is an absolute gem!
Decor is extremely unique and colorful.
Almost too overwhelming for multiple kids (group mentality set in) as they felt like they were at an amusement place – not a restaurant.
Vibe was all families at that time (couples with babies, moms/daughters, families with older kids). No adults just there to drink as other posts mention – that’s for after 8pm.
Recommendation to parents:
Good to set tone/rules with your kids before hand. We didn’t know what to expect so missed that and our two 4-year olds were too wild.
Prepare kids – it’s a cool looking place to take some pics, have a fun snack, and play a game. NOT a place to run around.
Pros:
Fun, lively feel. Mix of little girl fairytale and adult woman retro strength – all in vibrant color.
Games scattered around – board and things like giant jinga.
Improvements:
Flow coming in – just a walk up counter with little info on what to do, but think they maximized the seating/game space which limits the entry.
Food and drinks are “order at counter and they call your name” style. Feels less boujee when you have to do that…
Seemed understaffed that day – scattered pieces of board games around, but no home for them or people cleaning up tables. Unfortunately it wasn’t clear if there was a busser or what to do with dishes and games so many people just left messes.
Giant pick-up sticks type game isn’t safe for the under ~5year – too much damage potential with dozens of 36in sticks around kids/toddlers/babies.
Fabric furniture and throw blankets – some sticky (as would be expected with sugary drinks and kids). So liked the look/vibe, but not sustainable in this space.
Food /drinks – as advertised (boujee bites!), but mostly sugary and small.
A+ for the decor and kid distractions, honestly, the space looks great. Unfortunately, you get gourmet pricing on a gas-station lineup: $27 skimpy beef nachos (tragic), hot dogs, and popcorn. The nearly $20 cocktail (one of the two thrilling options available) was equally disappointing. I actually like the vibe. I just don’t understand charging a cover like you’re a downtown nightlife destination when it’s giving “Instagram selfie with a snack bar.” You invested heavily in aesthetics, then completely phoned in the food and drinks. I won’t be back, but hey, congrats on going viral.
