We reached at 6:20 PM and got our food around 7:45 PM — almost a 90-minute wait. Our order was taken quickly, but after that there was barely any update. The server came after about 40–45 minutes just to say the food was coming soon. What was disappointing was seeing other customers who came after us being served first. That didn’t feel right.
We ordered Lauki Kofta with chilli naan and a Rajasthani Thali. The kofta and naan were decent (around 2.5/5). The thali (2/5) — the mirchi bhaji was cold, which was surprising after such a long wait. Aloo sabji and gatta sabji were good, but the rest was just okay. They gave us complimentary papdi chaat(to compensate cold mirchi bhaji) and which was okay as well, but it didn’t really make up for the overall experience.
On top of that, they automatically added a 15% gratuity(their policy) even though we were just two people. That felt unreasonable, but they finally removed it after we complained about poor service and long waiting time for food.
Sadly, we would not recommend this place based on our visit.
Let me start with the good. The decor inside is traditional Indian village vibe tastefully done so kudos to the management. Yes some of the dishes do take a while but we were given enough of a heads up about that by the person who took our reservation and when we got to the restaurant. Service is very good and the owner and staff are very attentive they talked to about the dishes the origins and the process of creating it which was interesting and insightful.
I would highly recommend the tandoori chicken and the Dal Bhati it was simply sublime. The tandoori chicken is probably in my top three I have ever had . Best thing about is that there was zero food coloring used and there was no overwhelming heat to it…perfection just the way it was. Will go back for it.
Now the rest of the food yes I am guilty of ordering a lot but I like to take in flavors get a feel for the place and yes there are some really good and some just mediocre dishes . Overall the experience was pleasant and this is a solid restaurant which does need a visit by everyone.
It was our first time. Would absolutely go again the next time we’re in town.
I 100% recommend!!
The food was very flavorful and freshly prepared. While it takes a bit of time to cook, it’s worth the wait for the freshness. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions—they serve good quantity.
