Such a cute place with lots of potential, but unfortunately it did not meet expectations. We had a 5:00 reservation and did not get to place our order until about 5:40, which was disappointing. The way our server handled taking our order felt unprofessional. We were ready to order both appetizers and meals, but were only allowed to place an appetizer order first.
We tried several dishes. The cornbread and pork belly were good, though the pork belly was spicy instead of the sweet bourbon sauce described on the menu. The fried green tomatoes tasted off and seemed undercooked, although the flavoring on top was great. For entrees, the pork was good, but the gravy did not taste right and the green beans were undercooked/hard. The fish itself tasted good, but the breading gave it a fast-food vibe rather than fine dining. Coleslaw and collard greens were okay, but the slow-cooked green beans were not enjoyable.
A shout out to the server who told us it was her second day! She seemed very friendly and boxed our orders when our server was busy. I would consider giving this restaurant another try in the future, but it still needs improvement. I usually do not write reviews this lengthy, but I truly feel like this place has so much potential and want them to improve.

An excellent choice for a neighborhood restaurant with a high class food taste. Good cocktails and interesting menu with diverse choices. A few options from the menu not available (as food and drinks/wines) but still manageable. The plates were designed specifically for this restaurant which it is a very nice touch of service.
The service provided by Scott was good; he took care of our table needs and he provided the service to the best of his ability. One of the owners (Jodi) came and talk to us and ask about immediate feedback and if anything else we may need. Appreciate when owners or chefs are interested on feedback from customers. We definitely recommend the restaurant and we will return when possible.

Stood at the door with my mouth hanging open wondering: “What is this restaurant doing in Chittenengo?” So elegant, beautiful, yet with a warm atmosphere. Could have worn a tux or jeans and been comfortable. Rare to find such friendly and accommodating staff, and the owner stopped by our table to see how we liked it. We absolutely loved it!
Food has a southern inspiration, with a little Yankee upgrade. Grits and shrimp, cornbread, collard greens, crazy good ribs, pork, chicken. And deserts! Wow. Hummingbird cake won the vote, but it was close.
We’ll be back.

Went for the first time on a dinner date with my wife, and we really wanted to like it here. I think the food is very flavorful and unique, a great mix of southern cuisine but with focus on quality more than portion size.
Unfortunately the main letdown was the service. We waited 1.5 hours for our food to arrive. Now I’m not opposed to taking my time at a restaurant but the wait was a bit too long. Also, our server messed up a couple of our orders. It seemed like maybe we caught them on an off night, but I felt the service wasn’t quite up to par with the rest of the restaurant.
We will probably give them another try in the future. I think the price to quality ratio is quite good here, and again it’s a very unique restaurant that deserves to do well.

I got the strip steak and grits and was thrilled with my meal! Such flavor and the steak was seared to perfection. The cocktail was a seasonal mix and was delicious.
I do, however, think we came on an off night as the service was quite poor and our food was brought out almost 2 hours after it was ordered. We felt a little neglected and forgotten in our little corner of the restaurant. When others in the store were being profusely apologized to for the wait, we were just ignored. Not to say we needed to have any compensation for the long wait, but we witnessed multiple other tables being brought food on the house or comps for meals, when again we were just forgotten about.
I still think it may have been an off night for the restaurant and don’t want to judge based on one experience, as the food, when it did finally arrive, was phenomenal. I just think service needs some additional help or adjustment.

So I really had high hopes for this restaurant. My husband surprised me with this for Valentine’s Day. In theory it seemed perfect. The bar staff is fantastic, the ambiance is very inviting and pretty. But I was shocked that they charged us $75 per person, however all four courses were shared, so why were we paying per person? The food itself was nice except that they last minute ran out of rice by the second sitting and replaced it with shrimp. Unfortunately, I do not like shrimp at all, so I was unable to finish my half. The main course was lovely, but it was so painfully small. I tend to be a very light eater, but my husband tends to eat more. So when I started to feel myself getting full, I started giving him bites because I knew he wouldn’t say that he was still hungry. Then I asked the waiter for a to-go box for dessert because we had already been there for two hours and he completely disregarded that request. Honestly I expected more for customer service for what we paid. If it had been $75 to share the 4 courses I wouldn’t have had a single complaint but we were there for 2 hours and we spent almost $60 on drinks plus $150 for dinner. That’s wild to me. I can go to any other restaurant and have leftovers for days. First photo is the menu that makes no mention that this is a shared menu, second is to show that the ambiance was indeed lovely, third to show the main course once we split it. The beef was a nice portion but the potatoes were cold and hard and small, still yummy, and the carrots were perfection but I would have loved even maybe 2 or 3 of them, not one single carrot lol. Also we waited over 20 minutes past reservation time to actually be seated.

Had an amazing meal that brought me back to Louisianna with that creole flavor straight from the heart and soul. Thanks for bringing the South way up here to New York. By far some of the best tasting food I’ve had in the Syracuse area. The fried green tomatoes, the ribs, the mac & cheese, and ohhhhhh my goodness are those even really grits?! They can’t be; they taste way too good. Have fun eating here trying to decipher the subtle nuances of flavor nested here and there, making each dish delicious and exquisite.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. I’m usually a person that devours their food – but their Chicken Fried Chicken and Black Pepper Gravy had me slow down to savor every bite. There’s a reason this dish was named one of the top dishes in CNY for 2025

This was our first time there and it was excellent. We both had chicken fried chicken, mine without gravy. It was crispy, juicy and very tasty. I asked for cornbread with hot honey drizzled over it, which was amazing. The slow cooked green beans seemed overcooked but that’s probably what slow cooked does! Our server was great. He was helpful, funny and very attentive. We will be coming back soon! A great addition to the Chittenango food scene!!

My husband and I just went for dinner. Our server Scott was great! We started with the pork belly… highly recommend. For entrees we both had the chicken fried chicken. The portion size was huge! It tasted amazing! We were both impressed. We also got their cornbread. It was delish!
Thank you for a good meal on a cold winter night! We will definitely be back!
