The service was great and the food was delicious! I went with a group of three and we split three dishes between us. The portion sizes were large, we had to take home several to go boxes. Our server made good recommendations of food to try since it was our first time having Peruvian food, and everything we got was excellent!

I came in today around 4 pm on 08/14/2025
Very easy to find
Its in a shopping plaza next to other restaurants and shops.
I came in there was just one other table that was there.
Place is very clean, very nicely decorated.
Staff is super nice, each and everyone greeted me, I came in to try this place out by myself. Even though I am not Peruvian, Peruvian food is my favorite food out of all. Nothing compares to their impeccable gastronomy. I have been searching, and always trying out new Peruvian restaurants any different state or location where I am around.

Anywho, i was greeted right away, they are jamming out to Salsa music which was a great sign right away. The nice waitress sat me down, and right away asked me what I would like to drink and gave me the menu.

I was undecided between the Jalea and the chicharron de pescado, well I went with the chicharron de pescado. Now mind you, the price looks pretty up there for one plate, but keep in mind:

Its made to order
HUGE portions
Preparation time
It’s latino soul food made with a lot of passion.

I ordered:

Chicharron de pescado, it came with Salsa criolla (pickled red onions) yuca slices, plantains, cancha, limes tartar sauce.

I also ordered arroz verde (cilantro/spinach rice) depends on the region of Peru they are from. However, it is my favorite rice of all! Sooo sooo good and bursting with flavor.

Also ordered a side of huancaina sauce (just order it) you will thank me later.

They brought it out with red and green aji (salsa) however I rather have Peruvian aji vs any other spicy sauce.

Took about 15 minutes to get my order, and when it arrived the portions were HUGE. Presentation was 10000%, my order was done correctly nothing was overcooked it was made perfect.

I got full really quick but moreso I was taken back by the amount of food, and the presentation. Every bite was as good as the first one! With tip I paid for $42 dollars and took 90% of my food to go.

I took it to my family and the three of them liked it a lot that I plan on going back with them.

Rubis is NOW my favorite Peruvian restaurant! Wow, great job Rubi staff and continue to cook with soul!

They do have daily lunch specials make sure you follow them on social media for updates. Just a heads up they do not sell pollo a la brasa but trust me, you have sooo many other choices off their menu. Just writing this review its making me hungry again, I want to go back!

This is now my favorite Peruvian restaurant in the state of Utah! Reminded me of the food I ate while I traveled to Peru. If you are reading this review, thank you for making it this far.

Oh they also have a vegetarian menu! They have something for even the pickiest eater. Also coke products and fresh natural juices. They also have dessert

Do yourself a favor and go check it out! You will be happy you did!

I’m from Ecuador and I was craving some tastes from home. “Rubi’s” was on the way to my destination so I decided to stop in. I had a dinner date with myself and it was delicious. I didn’t wait long to get a table and I was served a menu and drinks in a timely fashion. They speak Spanish and English here so if you’re wanting to branch out your palette but you don’t speak Spanish I recommend stopping by.
I ordered the Filete de Pescado and it came with yucca, rice and salsa criolla on the side. It was a tad dry of a dish overall but after asking for some hot sauce it balanced out perfectly. I loved the fish it was cooked exquisitely!
Definitely check them out!

Amazing Peruvian food – but AMAZING Yucca. Best I’ve found away from the Caribbean.
Leche de Tigre was phenomenal, and the fried fish was extremely soft and delicate and delicious.

Incredible food. Emilio accommodated my daughter’s sesame allergy (sesame oil in her favorite dishes) and was very kind. We highly recommend this place. We love many other Peruvian restaurants in the salt lake valley, but this is our new favorite!

Great food, big portions, friendly service! You can adjust the spice level of the ceviche which was fresh, bright and packed with flavor. A lovely visit!

The Servers have the worst customer service. Specially the attitude and how they make you stand up and go stand outside if you haven’t already made a reservation or your party hasn’t arrived yet. I tried being polite or asked them about the rules if they would make it clear on what to do before you arrive. The food was okey, I’ve tried better Peruvian food before. I tried giving them a chance but not coming back or even recommending it.

Rubi’s Peruvian Taste was amazing! Went there for dinner, we were seated quickly and the waiter was very kind and attentive. The food was very authentic to food you would find in Peru. The Chicha Morada was the best I’ve had outside of Peru, the Aji de gallina was fantastic and the lomo and pollo saltados were both really great as well. The portions are large, we all had enough leftover for lunch tomorrow. Will be going back again.
