Reviews
As for the food, the fish taco and shrimp taco were both excellent. The fish was cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and paired nicely with the tangy sauce and fresh cabbage. The shrimp taco had a great flavor and texture too, not overcooked or rubbery like you sometimes find elsewhere. Both had that signature Baja-style freshness that Rubio’s is known for.
The one letdown was the lobster burrito. It sounded promising but didn’t quite deliver. The flavor was on the bland side, and the lobster got lost under the sauce and rice (mostly beans flavor). For the price, it just didn’t have the same punch as the tacos.
Still, between the great staff, clean atmosphere, and solid seafood tacos, Rubio’s Temecula is definitely worth a visit. I’d just skip the lobster burrito next time and stick with the classics.
over them so it doesn’t feel gross.

I’ve been here several times since that one horrendous experience. And, you know what? I’ve had far too many great experiences, that it’s outweighed the bad. The general environment, bathroom, and salsa bar are always so prestine; the GSAs are professional; and the food is always on point when dining in.
Just…avoid takeout, if you can help it.
2025 Review:
I was going to leave a glowing review for this location, because their dine-in service has been spectacular and the food has always been fresh. This was seriously on my to-do list tonight. However, my takeout experience was horrendous! I’m so agitated right now. Look at my Baja Grilled Chicken Burrito. What chicken??? What cheese??? I paid 8.99+tax for this. So unacceptable.
One star for the cashier, and another for the other employee whom has consistently delivered our food so kindly. The rest SUCKS.
The food is not cheap for the quantity you get. Otherwise, the place is very clean and the staff is courteous and helpful.
