I stopped by Rubio’s Baja Grill in Temecula recently and overall had a solid experience. The restaurant was clean, bright, and well-kept, with a comfortable casual vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. The staff was friendly and attentive—they greeted me right away, took the order quickly, and even checked in to make sure everything came out okay. It’s nice to see that kind of service in a quick-casual place.

As for the food, the fish taco and shrimp taco were both excellent. The fish was cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and paired nicely with the tangy sauce and fresh cabbage. The shrimp taco had a great flavor and texture too, not overcooked or rubbery like you sometimes find elsewhere. Both had that signature Baja-style freshness that Rubio’s is known for.

The one letdown was the lobster burrito. It sounded promising but didn’t quite deliver. The flavor was on the bland side, and the lobster got lost under the sauce and rice (mostly beans flavor). For the price, it just didn’t have the same punch as the tacos.

Still, between the great staff, clean atmosphere, and solid seafood tacos, Rubio’s Temecula is definitely worth a visit. I’d just skip the lobster burrito next time and stick with the classics.

Love Rubios , the rewards program has definitely been successful , i appreciate the points i earn as i eat at Rubios ( varying locations ) at least 3 times per week. I would recommend you resurface your tables , the tables wood have gotten perpetually sticky , no matter how fastidious the workers are to clean them. Acrylic , glass something needs to go
over them so it doesn’t feel gross.

We have been coming here for over 10 years now and have never had a bad experience. The staff is friendly and well trained, but Clara has taken their customer service to the next level. She always remembers our special requests, has a great attitude and gets everything right every time. Thanks, Clara. You’re the best, and a true asset to Rubio’s.

I’ve been here several times since that one horrendous experience. And, you know what? I’ve had far too many great experiences, that it’s outweighed the bad. The general environment, bathroom, and salsa bar are always so prestine; the GSAs are professional; and the food is always on point when dining in.

Just…avoid takeout, if you can help it.

I was going to leave a glowing review for this location, because their dine-in service has been spectacular and the food has always been fresh. This was seriously on my to-do list tonight. However, my takeout experience was horrendous! I’m so agitated right now. Look at my Baja Grilled Chicken Burrito. What chicken??? What cheese??? I paid 8.99+tax for this. So unacceptable.

One star for the cashier, and another for the other employee whom has consistently delivered our food so kindly. The rest SUCKS.

Great employees, fresh tacos. Love the new deals on the menu. They aren’t posted so ask what specials they have.

Had shrimp especial burrito. It was lukewarm and everything just fell out of the burrito. Nothing stuck together. Wasn’t fan for $18.00 for a burrito and drink

I enjoyed my late night stop for mahimahi burrito. I feel like the menu has changed a bit but looks like it’s for the better. I was able to exchange rice for more cabbage and I was very happy.

I love the food but they did just raise the prices. My chicken burrito went from nine dollars to $12. A three dollar jump is pretty big.

The food is generally very tasty at this location of the expansive Rubio’s franchise. I really like that the flavors are sophisticated with usually two sauces on the tacos. Plus other tasty elements to compliment the main protein. The Gourmet Grilled Shrimp Taco is especially good. On the other hand, the Original Fish Taco I had yesterday wasn’t great because the beer-battered coating was completely soggy. And I ate it within 5 minutes of it arriving on the table so I’m stumped. Maybe serve this with the sauces on the side? I’ll probably stick with the grilled selections only in future, especially because they’re so good.

The food is not cheap for the quantity you get. Otherwise, the place is very clean and the staff is courteous and helpful.
