I love coming to this Rubios. It’s so close to a lot of shopping and I really enjoy stopping in for lunch after running errands.
I’ve come often, both day and night, and feel like all the workers are equally nice and accommodating. I love the staff and whatever the managers are doing is working really well!
The salsa bar is always well stocked and when we brought our parents last week for some tacos they exclaimed, “00o it’s so clean in here!”
The food here is also always cooked well and I love coming both by myself and with others. I’ve recently been trying more things on the menu and have been pleasantly happy with everything. This past week I tried the steak street fries and they were *chef’s kiss* | think fries are really fun to have with SoCal Mexican food and I’ve never had a problem with the fries tasting anything but delicious at this location!
(I’ve had some really weird fries at other locations but have never had a problem here!)
I also love that Rubios has a great rewards program and great coupons. I hope that never goes away because it’s one of the reasons I love this chain so much.
Rubios is such a San Diego gem and it’s so nice to have so many close by. This particular location has a soft spot in my heart and it’s always such a joy to visit for a nice meal.! hope this location never closes!

I tried to get the name of the young lady with light brown hair in a pony tail before I left.. the one who rang me up and tried to answer my question. She was very polite and calm under pressure. The manager wasn’t as friendly, but he wasn’t rude- he mentioned orders were picking up and I could see what he meant about 10 mins later; it’s very hard to work efficiently and stay calm & friendly when you have to prepare food for a lot of customers like that.. I know from some experience with it, so I’m not upset with the manager and he wasn’t really rude to me anyway, but the young lady was so friendly and remained calm throughout the rush..also the food tasted amazing and that new slider I tried was delicious.. I also appreciate so much: Rubio’s continues to offer affordable menu items that taste amazing, even as price gauging at other places gets increasingly difficult

Overall a very disappointing experience. Went there on a Sunday night and left very underwhelmed. My wife and I ordered two California bowls. Worker was not very friendly, which was not a huge deal. Main issue was when the food came out my order was wrong (asked for Mexican rice instead of citrus) with barely any guacamole. To make it worse, my wife’s bowl had no guac. She went back to ask for guac and was told that the restaurant had run out of it! No mention at all when the food was brought out and no offer to make up for it considering guac is a key ingredient. Overall very poor service and food did not taste very good. Huge disappointment!

I ordered through the app and it was ready quickly (before the promised time). It was packaged well and the order was correct. Everyone enjoyed their food. The staff was courteous. The restaurant was clean. They were refilling all the salsas and it was all fresh-tasting and looked good; there were no messes/spills.

Food: Cold, over cooked, dry. Inedible. I got the trio on a Tuesday special day. $10.99. It taste horrible. Would not try this again.
Service: Understaffed. Customers were not given their food, completely forgotten about. The manager was running around like she had no idea what to do. The Tuesday specials have been going on for years now and yet no one has come up with a productive system on how to be efficient and take care of customers. They need a new manager.
Atmosphere: Same as all other Rubio’s. Clean

I ordered take out for my family from Rubio’s and overall we thought the food was too spicy, not very good, and barely warm. I ordered online, got there about 5 minutes before the food was supposed to be ready and it was a little late and we ate the food within 10 minutes of it coming out and it was still barely warm. They were fairly busy as they were running a promotion for a local high school which I think is fantastic by the way. Restaurant was mostly clean, one of the employees was scrambling to clean the tables. The staff was friendly and the manager came out to the folks in line to politely tell them they were running late which I also thought was great.

Come in on Tuesday night to try Fish Tacos and the place was packed. Lots of people hanging around waiting to pickup their online orders. Most of tables had been occupied. After being seated we had to wait about 25′ for our food. The fish was crunchy and tasted really good. The salsa bar also offer many choices of sauce that is a plus. Next time we’ll check in early to avoid the rush.

My ancho shrimp was prepared the way I like it. The only thing I did not like was that while eating inside it was colder inside than outside. They really need to adjust the temperature in the dining room. This is always the case when we eat inside. To cold.

Rubio’s team is great! Food was hot and did not have to wait long. They made sure all order was accurate.
Salsa, drink, utensil area, tables, always cleaning when not taking orders. Great team!
Thank you

Come to this location regularly and often get the classic taco plate. Today, the tortillas were a little hard and the food was cold. Not sure if it sat for a while but it wasn’t the normal warm plate of food I’m use to.
