We had decided to go to dinner here at Rubio‘s. I got the steak quesadillas and my wife got the shrimp tacos. Aside from my quesadilla being a little cold, the food was still fantastic.
The girl at the register was able to figure out our coupon even though I cannot get it to work. They went above and beyond. I always enjoy going to Rubio’s. The food is always great.

2025-12-15 — So I had this Rubio’s Free Meal card someone had given me years ago — so many years ago, I really don’t remember how I even got the card, and it’s just been sitting on my desk for yonks. I’ve never dined at a Rubio’s and as old as this card was, I figured maybe the chain would’ve been gone by now. But a quick Google and here we are. Would they even accept such an old card?

I had studied the menu online before coming here and noticed they have a $7 combo, perfect for my card. The Original Fish Taco® seemed like the logical choice. There was some confusion over how to enter the card and it took three staff members to figure out how to key it in, but yes, they accepted my years-old Free Meal card.

On the in-store overhead menu, I saw no mention of the “$7+ Meal Menu” listed on their website. Before you go, you might want to peruse the online menu so you’ll know all your options.

Off to the side is a salsa bar and drink station. Adequate seating. The dining area was clean enough but they need to wipe down the tables more frequently as it took a bit of searching to find one that didn’t have salsa smudges. While the staff I encountered were nice and helpful, the general feeling I got was that there was no one managing the place — everybody was just doing whatever needed to get done, which seemed a bit disorganized & inefficient.

Restrooms are locked with a keypad and apart from napkins, there’s no way to clean your lime crema & salsa-covered hands after the meal. Just lick ’em like I did, and make sure the other customers are watching!

Those tacos were deeeee-licious, so yes indeed, I will be coming back in!

And who says nobody gets a free lunch… huh!

It was our first time here and we had a wonderful experience. As we walked in Marvin greeted us and reviewed the menu with us and advised us about the loyalty program. He was very friendly and helpful as well as the rest of the staff. The store was clean . Our food was delicious and he also came to our table to ensure we received our food and made sure we got everything we needed. Thank you again Marvin!

Update: Rubios apologized and gave me helpful tips on ordering salads as well as a partial food credit. In short, you can customize and request just lettuce rather than coleslaw.

It’s been a long time since I had a chicken salad at Rubio’s and I was looking forward to it again. However, this was not the salad I remember! It looked like they took a cheap bag of coleslaw blend from the grocery store, added a few pieces of lettuce and chicken. My jaw was sore after trying to chew a whole bowl of coleslaw. Very disappointed and definitely won’t order that again, especially for the price. My son had the carne asada tacos and really liked them. Next time I’ll stick to the tacos.

Good food and great service. I enjoyed my burger. It was the right size and filling.
The service was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. They were patient while we ordered and checked on us several times after we were seated and eating.
NOTE Freddy’s is counter service so being asked how our meal was and did we need anything else after we were eating was nice and refreshing customer service.

I had an amazing experience at Rubio’s thanks to Mona Lisa! From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel welcome. Her customer service was phenomenal—she was attentive, friendly, and made sure my order was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and made with care. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely enjoys their job and goes above and beyond for customers, but Mona Lisa does just that! She truly made my visit memorable, and I’ll definitely be coming back because of her excellent service. Thank you, Mona Lisa, for making my day better with your kindness and professionalism!

I have been a big fan of Rubio’s for well over a decade. I always tell people their fish tacos are better than most sit down restaurants. This visit was no exception. The food was excellent. However, the iced tea, the iced tea I consider some of the best in quick serve places—tasted strongly of MOLD. I tried both flavors. I could not drink either. I paid for a tea and ended up drinking water. They got so busy right after we ordered that I did not have the opportunity to get anyone behind the counter’s attention.

Further, I wrote to the corporate office. I let them know about the mold taste. I have not received any response. I don’t know why corporate would ignore me so I’m writing here. I will Not post on yelp or similar sites–they only focus on negative reviews.

This store is overall excellent. I hope someone there reads this and cleans their tea containers and makes sure the water is well filtered.

I wish we had a Rubios on the Eastside. The good is great always freash and very delicious but the real shinning star here is the staff. They’re absolutely amazing remembering customers and very inviting always greeting and thanking everyone as they enter or leave. Phenomenal service!

The fish and chips were a bit disappointing on my last visit.

The fish was tough and chewy and over battered. Everything else was fine though.

Overall, this location is good. I’ve had a few minor issues mostly, but they are fixed.
