I’m shocked at how much I really liked this pizza. I’ve never had a pizza with this thin of a crust, It’s a true “cracker” style crust. The pizza comes in a little tent style bag to protect the crust from getting soggy (I read that online). The food and customer service is great! I can see why the ppl love it!

Pizza was too notch! For sure in my Top 10 for central Ohio. Only complaint is that the dine in situation is kind of a cluster! Seems like nobody knows what they are doing for the seating or the service for the diners. I’m not expecting world class service, but maybe stop by just once to see if we need anything else or another drink. Pizza 5 star… The rest maybe 3 star. I’d strongly suggest ordering your pizza as carry out if you see people standing around waiting for tables.

I know this is a review from when I was a kid in the 70/80’s. As a little kid I grew up on Roosevelt Ave and in walking distance. I live in AZ now but I swear I can still smell that delicious pizza. I’m glad to see it hasn’t changed much and of course still there. Rubino’s ❤️❤️❤️for 50+ yrs.

This place has been here for a long time. It is one of the old time Italian pizza / pasta shops in Old Bexley, and has been a survivor for good reason. The pizza crust is a unique immigrant style crust, with a delicious, thick red, rich pizza sauce. It was so good, I had to eat it in shifts over several days. I’ll be back to try the Italian sub next.

It’s possibly the best pizza experience in Columbus and vicinity (Bexley). Rubino’s makes a thin yet crispy crust that you will fall in love with. The prices are phenomenal, and the pizza sausage and pepperoni are both sliced flat and are uniquely delicious. The sauce is tangy and just right for the pizza. Finally, you can eat in and enjoy an original Italian pizza parlor feel, or carry out. Rubino’s is a must go to restaurant for the Pizza Affectionate Foodie.

Walked in the door after maybe 30 years and there it was, Rubinos Pizza! Even had the Pac-Man machine in the back. That black phone ringing with orders and the smell of sauce in the air got me excited for Lorenzo’s craft of a large double cheese with sausage. And he did not disappoint. The thin crust was just crispy enough but with a small chew as the bite all mixes in your mouth. While the salad is nothing special to look at, after mixing in that amazing secret oily, lemony, vinaigrette and taking a bite with a bit of banana pepper makes you realize that you will always get a salad here. This is a good old, no frills, pizza joint, and it ranks among the best! This is a must, if you’re in the neighborhood and frankly, worth a roadtrip as well. Thanks so much for the friendly conversation as well!

Update: we decided eat at the place on friday and man it was crazy busy. The definitely could use at least 2 more people, one server and someone else to take phone orders. We were there for over 2 hrs from waiting for a table to finishing and that phone did not stop ringing. Great to see they are pumping out that kinda business. The waitress was then only one with like 11 tables. She was doing the best she could though. Everything was good!

This is an old school pizza joint serving up classic style pizza. They have a really thin crispy crust, so if thats your style, this is the place for you. They have a really nice balance of cheese and sauce, so that you can actually taste the sauce. All the ingredients are freshly sliced and not canned. They do use the sliced sausage, which i find weird. They don’t have a ton of options for toppings which is another bummer, however they should have enough for most people. You guys should add a double crust to showcase your dough, I’d be interested in that!
Thanks guys.

What a wonderful suprise for my 70th birthday (I’m class of 1974). My brother (class 1975) sent a box full of cheese, sausage and pepperoni pizzas. They are now safely stashed in the deep freezer . I guard them as if they were gold lol.
They came fully frozen with dry ice and in a styrofoam cooler..lightening fast shipping to rural Montana! The gals were just great and we visited well talking about some of the good old days.
Needless to say we each had our own favorite pie that night and of course I cut it into squares . The dough is made fresh daily in the same kitchen aid dough mixer they had when we were just young kids. The little pepperoni cups of goodness are meaty and sometimes they get that crisp rim…drooling!
The sausage is just so tasty, the fact that it’s sliced means you have more coverage rather than lumps of meat. The cheese, sauce and meat is a perfect taste combo and the crust ! A great go with is the salad…best Italian dressing ever!
I see the negatives and of course don’t understand but some people just expect more. Lighten up and sit down to a hot Rubinos right out of the ovens, which by the way are the original ovens to Rubinos. Hundreds of thousand of happy pies have come out of these. And hundred of thousand of Bexleyites like us ( 3rd generation) will ALWAYS have Rubinos in our hearts, deep freezes and the great memories of Friday night football games, date night and those special occasions when it calls for a Rubinos pizza. Remember to bring cash and your appetite.
Thanks guys for making my 70th outstanding !

You walk in, and there are booths along the walls, as well as larger tables in the middle surrounded by familiar banquet hall chairs. Pizzas are made on the other side of the counter. The menu is simple yet effective: it features pizzas, ravioli, and spaghetti. Cans of soda cost $1, and final checks are written by hand. There are plenty of regulars, and the staff greets many of them by name. Rubino’s is a Bexley institution. This is a cash only location

Rubino’s is a strong contender for the title of King of Bexley Pizza, alongside Bexley Pizza Plus and, to a lesser extent, Anthony’s. I appreciate the style points for its longevity and old-school charm—there’s no delivery and no cardboard boxes; instead, they use ingenious folded paper tents. When I ordered by phone, they answered using what is likely their original black countertop rotary dial phone.

Rubino’s serves thin-crust pizza, and we always request extra cheese. The tomato-based sauce is of the traditional variety, and there are no specialty ingredients; this is strictly old school. The pizza is delicious—it’s the kind of pizza that defined pizza in the U.S. back in the day. I like to order mine with extra cheese for full coverage, along with whatever toppings I’m in the mood for.

Rubino’s Pizza: A Slice of Perfection and Nostalgia
Rubino’s Pizza delivered an absolutely awesome experience! From the moment I walked in, it was clear this place was special. Everything was perfect. The crust, oh the crust! It’s incredibly thin, yet packed with flavor—a true testament to their expertise. The sauce is equally impressive, rich and robust, complementing the crust perfectly.
It’s worth noting that Rubino’s is a cash-only establishment, so be sure to come prepared. The atmosphere is like stepping into a delightful blast from the past, adding to the unique charm of the place.
If you’re looking for a truly exceptional pizza experience, Rubino’s is a must-try. The quality of the ingredients and the perfect execution make it a standout. Highly recommended!
