We had a party of four out for dinner to celebrate our October events two anniversaries and two birthdays. The Bartender Kelly was very quick getting drink orders. Our server Lexie was very knowledgeable and friendly she explained how our meal would work and walked us through the process. We went to the meat case and selected our cut of beef. Lexie explained all the options. I selected a New York Strip and asparagus spears. Others choose filets and mushrooms in a 8 inch cast skillet. The texas toast is tasty from the grill. The signature salad was delicious and you can have more than one. You grill your own meat, toast and baked tators are in a roaster. The baked beans are very good side. Lexie stopped by the table and checked drinks and made suggestions to help make our evening special. We all ordered a desert to compete our meal. Get a reservation weekends a busy here. I suggest going on Thursday to optimize your meal experience. Thank you Lexie, Kelly and Rube’s Steakhouse Staff we had a memorable time.

Not a fan of the cross contamination. There are not hand sanitizers out at all. I watched someone at the grill blow their nose and continued to flip his steak with the greasy tongs everyone will use after him now. Waitress was a bit intense and we hardly got a conversation in in full without being interuppted. Not impressed with that. Elsewise, food was good.

One of the best, most enjoyable restaurants I have ever been to. At this point, I’ve been in Iowa for 12 years and am incredibly sad I didn’t hear about this place sooner. The meat selection was great, you pick out your own steak. Choose your fixings, the wine selection was great. Atmosphere was cozy and romantic, the place smelled good, and service was excellent.

What a cool place. You pick your own cut of steak. Then they take you to the grill. Where you cook your own steak. Heat your sides up on the grill. It’s a little pricey bit the food is good. You can make reservations or just walk in. Our server Lexi she was amazing. Thanks Rube’s for a cool steakhouse experience.

Great time! Good cuts of meat to grill yourself. I was expecting a gas grill but there was a full bed of charcoal under the grates which is far better than gas (in my opinion). Sides were great salad was good and top notch service. Great bourbon and whiskey selection. We will be back!

Rube’s is amazing. We stopped in for dinner on our way from Dyersville to Des Moines. The town of Montour is so small. The restaurant is about the only thing there outside of the post office. The restaurant concept of picking out, seasoning, and cooking your own steak was so unique!! The steak and the food were amazing. Our server was attentive and helpful. I wished we lived closer because we would visit this place often. Highly recommend if you are in the area. I would also recommend reservations to ensure an enjoyable experience.

We love going to Rube’s. We don’t always get the same steaks, but a constant that we always get is the jalapeno creamed corn. It’s the best anywhere. But somehow, they’ve recently made it even better! I don’t know how, but they did! We had such a great anniversary meal last night. Rube’s never disappoints!
