If you’re craving classic Mexican-style tacos and burritos with bold sauces and a relaxed atmosphere, Ruben’s Fells Point is a great spot to hit up. It’s not fine dining, but for authentic, inexpensive eats with big flavor, it’s definitely worth a visit. Angel took care of me and the food was great, would recommend founder burrito

Ruben’s Mexican Food is one of the best Mexican spots in Baltimore, super underrated. I’m from cali so i’m always looking for an authentic spot, and ruben’s is the closest i’ll get to the real deal!! the portions were great for the price too. I’ll start off saying I’m particular, but oh my god whaaaaat is this?! I’m from San Diego, had my share of Cali burritos as a teenager. I opted not to get the Cali burrito, but a place that serves it should serve food I’m accustomed to right? Nah. I’ve never had such bland Mexican food in my life. Folks saying to flavor with the salsa? I didn’t even get salsa with my order when I requested it. If your food depends on flavoring with salsa, it’s not good. I got a simple quesadilla with some veggies and guac. It felt like it was lacking salt, and it was lacking spice (both heat and actual spices) and the veggies tasted like flavorless water. Usually when you get veggies that throw in some onion, garlic, etc but nope it was just wet spinach, mushrooms (and you know if the mushrooms are flavorless that’s an issue, they absorb flavor) and some chopped bell pepper. The cheese didn’t even have flavor. The tortilla was soggy, greasy.
The guac had little to no cilantro. It had no salt. Just absolutely flavorless.
I hope this place can regroup and look at their recipes for some rework. Food is passion, but I feel like the passion here has diminished based on my experience and the experience of others.

This place is amazing, I loved the food and the atmosphere was wonderful, love how fast and kind the servers were and how fresh the food was!! This place is so beautiful and I would recommend coming out and checking it out! And the management was very kind and friendly, the gentleman that helped me from management angel, such a great person! If you need any help, ask for angel because he is the go to person if something is needed!!

I see a lot of mixed reviews I tried the chicken taco’s for the first time today and I enjoyed them nice chunks of grilled chicken flavor was good fresh onion and cilantro and the tacos were full 3 filled me up and I’m a large man.. and man taking my order was very polite food was boxed will paired with three different sauces and napkins… So at this point I have to reason to bash them and if the consistency is there I have no problems returning to support local business. Thank you

Ordered from this place on grubhub last night got the founder burrito. I’ve been sick ever since, throwing up burrito on and off all day. I don’t know if it’s food poisoning or what cause I did enjoy the burrito but I got sick after consuming half of it. I would not order from here again. Half n half was really good tho, sad I got sick cause if not this would be a completely different review.

I saw Ruben’s food truck at the Fells Point Fun Festival and had the Cali Burrito. Absolutely monster portions, delicious and the hot sauce is addictive. I’m craving it while writing this and will definitely be back soon!

I’m not sure how this place is getting some bad reviews. Is it incredible food no. The people that are saying the food is bland must not be using the packets of salsas that you get. That is what this is for. Their salsas in the packs that they make are incredible and they could sell that on their own. If your food was bland it’s your fault because you didn’t use that That’s what it’s for. They don’t flavor the meat a lot other than probably salt and pepper and maybe a bit of cumin because it’s meant to have the sauces that you get with it. I give it five stars because it is good food for the price it’s open late I’ve never had a service issue and I probably gotten food from there 50 times.

Normally I really enjoy Rueben’s. But a few weeks ago we placed an order around 10:30pm (hours say open til 12am) and pick up time given was 10:50. We went to pick up the order and got there and they were closed. If you need to close early for any reason it’s totally fine but at least turn off online ordering or let us know you’re closing early and won’t fulfill our order. To add insult to injury, there were still employees in the establishment and completely ignored us, and that wasn’t cool. They could’ve just let us know they had to close early and they’d refund us the next day or something
