We found this BBQ joint by accident and have now been here several times. I haven’t tried their burnt ends but everything else I have had had been tasty. I think the smoky mashed potatoes were my favorite for a side. I really can not decide what my favorite main dish is because they are all so good. One of the best BBQ in Connecticut and I’ve had a lot around the state.

As someone who has eaten at some of best barbecue joints in the country, many in the south, Royster’s can certainly hold it’s own among those places…they serve up some of the yummiest “Q” to be found anywhere! Only 3 stars for atmosphere, cuz it’s just a little take out only place…now if they had a full blown sit down restaurant, with some live down home blues and soul music, then we would see 5 stars across the board. Seems like everything on the menu that I have eaten there is always on point…worth pulling off of Rt. 10 for.

Great guys running this place. Helpful, patient, and explained everything thoroughly. The food is outstanding. The Oreos wrapped in bacon you have to try. This is a gem and treasure is better for having this place in town.

Best barbecue in CT. We loved our experience here! It’s a small family owned place with some of the best bbq we’ve had. The pulled pork was amazing and the homemade bbq sauce was the perfect spice and sweetness. Also gluten free. The owner Brian was great and spent time talking with us and giving us some samples of the food before we got it. He also gives back to the community in cool ways. There was limited seating, as it’s more of a takeout place. There were only a few barstools inside and picnic tables outside, but it was super clean and fit the casual atmosphere of a barbecue place.

What a great meal! I ordered brisket, baked beans, maple bacon cornbread and the Texas twinkies. Everything was delicious! The BBQ sauces were amazing. We can’t wait to get back and try the other meats and sides. Royster’s is a must try!

We tried this place on a whim. 5 people. Food was absolutely top notch. 0 complaints. We had Texas Twinkies, bacon wrapped Oreos, pulled pork,Mac and cheese, corn bread, and the taters all fantastic beyond delicious. But the brisket was on a whole ‘nother level. Good to the last crumb. Juicy melt in your mouth with exceptional flavors. 10/10 would reccomend. They were beyond kind and inviting.

Phenomenal. As a Kansas City man, I’m obsessed with barbecue. It was good to find a place near home that has spectacular barbecue. The owner is a great guy as well and the atmosphere is family friendly, albeit with limited seating inside.

As a southerner living in New England I have been dragged to a fair share of “authentic bbq” joints throughout the area. Most of the bbq is dry, under seasoned and the place will boast a ton of sauce options that are relatively mediocre. I’ve been to bbq festivals, major bbq joints and some awesome gas stations throughout the southeast and this place can hang with the best of ‘em. All of it is good! The owner is not trying to get crazy and do a hundred different types of meat and 20 different sides. The brisket would make a Jewish mother proud and a Baptist lady cuss it’s so good. It’s seriously amazing and if you get the chance it’s worth the visit!!! Also, my cat approves!

Finally made it and this place did not disappoint! The owner is wonderful, has a great sense of humor and knows his BBQ! Everything hit above my expectations. The burnt ends ❤️❤️❤️❤️ the ribs fall off the bones, the brisket was very savory, the coleslaw, mac n cheese, and beans, unlike any other. The bbq sauces have their own tang. The bacon maple corn bread! Yum!!! And most of all…… I wasn’t drinking out of the toilet… lots of flavor without the SALTY taste! Thank you I’ll be back for sure!!!
