Reviews
I had the 6 piece chicken chunks, potato wedges and sweet tea.
Perfect seasoning, temperature and nice and moist.
I’ll make it a regular lunch stop.
Excellent, fresh, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside fried chicken served with delicious sides. Their drive through service is fast even though there always seems to be a long line. We were there at 2PM, and there were 8 cars in front of us. The line moved quickly. We took home a couple of tasty three piece dinners and some extra sides. The ladies working the drive through window are super nice. A great clean place to enjoy some traditional fried chicken and the fixings.
Solid place. We drove here from Tulsa. for a birthday dinner.
We will go again and try something else they have. Still nice to have a place like this in the small town.
I can’t count how many times I’ve seen this place, and yet, for some reason, I never stopped by—until now. Let me be very clear: I did not wake up this morning thinking, “Today, I’m going to eat at Roy’s Chicken.” Not at all. Like most days, I figured I’d just pick a random spot for lunch.
But today, as I wrapped up work near the intersection where Roy’s bold sign stands out, something nudged me—just a feeling that said, Go. So I did, finally, after all these years.
Now, I’ll admit—I didn’t wake up thinking I’d fall in love again. My heart already belongs to my wife. But little did I know Roy’s Chicken would sneak a small piece of it… and make me fall for chicken all over again.
To be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of chicken. Maybe I just hadn’t found the right place—until now. What a revelation.
FOOD:
The food—specifically the chicken—was amazing. I don’t know what kind of magic they work back there, but I’ve never had chicken quite like this. There’s only one other place in the entire metro area where I’ll eat chicken, but out of respect for Roy’s, I won’t name it here.
SERVICE:
The service was… average. Not bad, not great. I came in late, and I could tell the ladies working were running low on energy after a long shift. They weren’t rude by any means—just worn out. Understandably so. It was still a decent experience overall.
ATMOSPHERE:
I thought the atmosphere was fantastic. The restaurant is beautifully designed and decorated, with a sense of openness and fresh energy that makes it feel like a fun place to eat.
I did notice the floors were a bit messy, likely from a busy rush earlier in the day. It didn’t feel dirty—just well-used. I almost took my food to go, but I wanted to sit, take it in, and get a feel for the place. I wasn’t the only one either—seemed like there were a few other first-timers doing the same. Roy’s might just be one of those places that people hear about and finally decide they need to check out for themselves.
FINAL THOUGHT:
If I had one suggestion, it’d be about the location. The parking situation feels a bit cramped, especially being right next to QuikTrip, which can get hectic. It’s not ideal and could potentially cause some headaches—but it’s already built, and you learn to live with it.
None of that, however, will keep me from coming back. In fact, the impression Roy’s Chicken made on me today has me wanting to return—and become a regular.
