This restaurant is a true hidden gem. Not only is the service amazing and genuinely unique, but the food oh my God the food is outstanding. We had a BBQ plate and a chicken dish, and both were absolutely incredible. The meat was flavorful and perfectly cooked, the fries were done just right, and you could really taste how fresh everything was.
The cherry on top was the pound cake, so fresh and fluffy it practically melted in your mouth. We honestly expected to pay an arm and a leg for food this good, but it was surprisingly affordable. If you ever have the time or find yourself nearby, go. I promise you won’t regret it for a second.

Tucked away on Wire Grass Rd in Lumberton, Roy’s Country Corral is southern comfort done right! ✨ Once an old tobacco barn, now it’s home to BBQ, fried catfish, hush puppies, and sweet tea that tastes like home. Rustic charm, friendly faces, and good eatin’ — just the way it should be!

If you blink you’ll miss it and you don’t want to do that. Roy’s is a treasure trove of southern goodness. The barbecue and porkchops are . And if your seafood menu don’t include fried spot, what are you really saying? Perfect meds for “hangry” and you don’t need insurance to afford it. Loved it.

Who needs Cracker Barrel??
Better food (they raise their own pigs for BBQ), friendlier service, cheaper prices, bigger portions, and more interesting decor!
Some of the best catfish I’ve ever had.

4.5 stars.. not for everybody but definitely a unique experience. Hush puppies were the best I’ve ever had, but still not a favorite of mine. If you come here, the chicken is a must 10/10! The barbecue is good and the sauce is just right (8/10). The coleslaw’s crunchy but needs more flavor(4/10) and the fries are nothing to write home about. My daughter’s burger looked really good and the shrimp was good(7/10) but small. Your menu maybe incorrect, but still great prices.

This is a MUST stop for anyone passing Lumberton during a meal time. It’s the sort of place where there aren’t any strangers, just friends they haven’t met. The staff and service was outstanding and the food was phenomenal. They had the best hushpuppies I’ve ever eaten and their green beans were almost as good as my grandmother’s – the highest praise I’ve got. Stop by, eat some food, and if you don’t want the sweet tea, try a half ‘n half (half sweet and half unsweet).

What a treat. Total time travel. Paper plates. Make sure to focus your gaze and on all the kitsch – very sentimental, loving and country creative. Drove 2 hours to visit. No nonsense. It’s kinda like a Sunday dinner from 50 years ago. Very grateful for this experience. I almost forgot – haven’t had a more affordable meal in years. Unreal. Go show and feel some love @ Roy’s.

Ok so the good:
The food was tasty. And cheap. I got the double cheeseburger and chili-cheese fries. The ambience and feel of the place was super unique, tons of decorations and fixtures, it seemed clean and well-decorated. The server was really polite.

The bad:
We waited almost 15 minutes before someone even asked what we wanted to drink, then about 45 minutes after we ordered for our food. In defense, the hostess did apologize about there being someone new in the kitchen. When it was finally brought out, my order was incorrect. However it was fixed within 5 minutes.

In summary, the restaurant is a unique and tasty place to visit, however it felt like it was everyone’s first day working there.

I can’t give you a review on the food because I never got any? So I’ll start from the beginning. Google sent me here, I looked up good BBQ local. This place has amazing reviews so I pulled in, this was Saturday. When I walked up there was a lady smoking on the front porch, she told me she’d be right in to get my order and to have a seat. I said okay and found a table. I waited and waited and waited. At least 10 minutes. Then she finally came in, asked if I knew what I wanted and I told her no, it’s my first time and I’d like a menu. She kind of got this snarky attitude after that. She got me a glass of water, and the menu, and then she disappeared again. Mind you at this point the place is empty, I’m the only customer. I could hear her talking through this little window, I’m assuming it was the kitchen? Anyways, she didn’t come back out for a good bit of time. It was ridiculous, I got up and left. Didn’t get any food, water was great. Waitress was absent, smelled VERY strongly of cigarettes and ignored me basically the whole time.
I feel like they’d probably do better business if they had a staff that cared.
