Probably the absolute best Indian restaurant in Frederick, in terms of its menu, its ambiance, and it’s delicious and vibrant dishes that are authentically spiced and complex. (Unlike most other local Indian restaurants that “Americanize” their dishes resulting in bland and flavorless food)
I loved the Vegetable Pakora and the Royal Patties as appetizers. The Salmon Tikka and their Dal was also delicious!
They have a great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, too!
I really liked the ambiance of the front dining room and bar area, and they have a good selection of liquors, mixed drinks, and wines, all at very reasonable prices.
I only gave them 4 stars because of their poor service. I think that, since they are fairly new, they are still figuring it out. Our service was slow and our server was way too busy to be attentive enough. I’m hoping that will improve with time. We will definitely return here again to enjoy the amazing food and drinks!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say. This place was just wonderful. I came in with a friend who had never tasted Indian food before and they did not fail to deliver She left very impressed. The food was top notch. The customer service was nothing short of glorious. Someone always stopped by to check on us and make sure we had everything we needed. The food, dessert and Mango Lassi was to die for. I will definitely be visiting again mostly for that fireside/outdoor seating. Thanks to all the team members for such a wonderful experience.
If there was one thing I could add is it would be nice to have little plates to sample how spicy the food is before ordering so that customers can tell the difference between mild, hot or Indian hot.

The ambience speaks Royalness and the color scheme is amazing. The food was royal as well. The chicken kabobs were tender and juicy and flavorful. Being an Indian we asked them to make main course Hot even though they have Indian hot, Hot was good for us. Ordered some appetizers including paani puri and chicken platter. Maincourse ordered malai Kofta, butter chicken and kadhai chicken. Food was amazing, you will enjoy the true Indian authentic food.

Great food, lunch buffet had plenty of solid veg options and was a good deal. Our waitress, Heather, and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. We ate here once before for dinner and the food was also quite good, although as a heads up, when you ask for hot, it’s definitely hot 🙂 I appreciate that, but if you don’t like spicy food, definitely stick to mild. Cool decor and excellent lounge-ish music as well.

Great new addition to the downtown Frederick restaurant scene. The inside has been completely restyled. We sat at the bar where Heather did a fantastic job taking care of us. I enjoyed my tikka chicken masala, and my wife loved her lamb saag. The portions were large with plenty to take home.

This place is fantastic! I came here intending to take a lovely photo of my meal for this review but the only thing I got is the aftermath because as soon as that plate hit the table…. I blacked out and came to with an empty plate and the remnants of goat curry on my fingers and face.#SorryNotSorry
Staff were exceptionally attentive and hilarious, atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, drinks were good, and the location is fantastic. Definitely my new favorite Indian place in Frederick and I can’t wait to come back and try something new.

Quite good, it’s a nice place in downtown with better than average Indian food. The service was good and the place was clean and fairly quiet for a Saturday night.

Came for the soft opening and was very impressed! The restaurant was beatiful and very comfortable. I will confidently say my meal was DELISH! They also have a great drink menu.
As a vegetarian, they had 5 options to choose from along with 6 vegan options. The service was great too! Would definitely recommended The Royal Tandoor for a cozy dinner or a yummy date!

This place is amazing and I loved the buffet and food selection. From the beautiful decor and atmosphere, pleasant staff and manager, to the delicious food…this is definitely a place to check out! I will surely be back.
