the food has NO flavor at all. i have to fixed the fried rice at home because it taste like nothing. the chicken absolutely no seasoning. just nasty

When this place first opened, I was excited to try it. Even though I live about 35 minutes away. The first time I called, I asked if they had a specific drink I really wanted and was told yes. When I arrived and ordered it, I was told they weren’t making it that day. I explained that I had called ahead and made the drive because I was told it was available, but they didn’t seem to care.
Today, I visited again with my mom and felt like we were bothering the workers just by being there. Before going, I called to ask what time lunch would be ready and was told 11:00. We arrived around 11:45 and nothing was ready. I was then told it would be a few more hours before the fried rice and chow mein were available.
This place really needs better management and customer service. Save yourself the trouble and take the extra few minutes to go to Liberty instead.

I visited this place when it first opened and got a roti. Haven’t been here in quite a while. My cousin wanted to stop to get food from here. I decided to get something as well. I ended up getting rice and peas with stew chicken. The medium container is $13. I think that’s a fair deal. It came with a side of steamed vegetables and plantains. Overall it was tasty. Not overly salty like a lot of places. I feel it was a good portion. I am 61 about 190 lb. It filled me up. I do know they also have a lunch special we can get a meal at a cheaper price. They are located within feet of a high school. I’m sure that really helps with business.
The sorrol drink was sweet with a nice amount of ginger
I may have found a new place. On a side note, I am becoming more health conscious about portion sizes. I think I’ll try this small next time to see how filling it is.

Guys please make sure you eat before you come to Royal because your craving would not be satisfy. If you are around it’s best to just take the couple more minutes to Liberty. The doubles so thin to the point where it had hole and all the channa and sauce is falling out. Once again please take your time and drive to Liberty for best top quality of food.

The best! Especially in the long island area. The girls don’t have a stink attitude like most roti shoos and the food is sooooo delicious !!! I just ubered eats food to plainview and all instructions were followed. Definitely one of my favorites as doubles is my favorite food

Drove 30 mins to this spot 9am in the morning and no doubles , no aloopie , they said it’s sold out and apparently had no plans to make any more, I can see why all these roti shops out in Long Island always close down a few years after .

I’ve tried Royal roti when they first opened and the food was meh and no flavor, but I have the benefit of the doubt bc they just opened. I’ve only been back one other time back in December only to order doubles those were good. Now it’s July 2024 and I ordered two platters, one curry goat with white rice the other jerk chicken rice and peas…. The curry goat is nothing but bones and is BLAND! Their is no flavor on the meat in the sauce nothing just color or curry, the white rice mushy and not even a pinch of salt.. the only thing seasoned was the potato I added into it.. but I will not be finishing that at all. The jerk chicken is okay. But I don’t think I will be back to them. This was my third time going and it’s not worth it to me..

I have not made a meal purchase yet, I am still waiting till their quality improves. My only purchase was patsy channa. Their prices are higher than many roti shops perhaps due to inflation. Perhaps allowing the Jamaicans to cook the curry or the Trinidadians will help. The Guyanese on the dhal roti, and Again the Trinidadians on the doubles.

Ordered some bake & saltfish & doubles from this shop & everything was tasty & nice. I went back & got some buss-up-shut with curry chicken & red mangoes. Definitely will visit this little Halal roti shop again!
