I’ve been going to the Royal for close to 20 years religiously. The food is consistent and always awesome. I probably should’ve saved awesome for my description of the girls and their service! If you like Portuguese food, I think this is one of the more authentic restaurant Portuguese restaurants in the city.

Stopped in for some of the Best Portuguese style dry rub ribs you can buy in the area. Still absolutely delicious and one of my favorites. I’ve had it many times and its always consistent. Try it and see for yourself. They also do great job catering orders with trays of rice, potatoes, meat, chicken, and fish filets being some of my favorites. Most recently went with the chicken and rib combo for two. Comes with rice and fries.

The food was good and the staff was friendly. My husband got a half lobster with a steak, rice, and fries, but that was 41$ it should have come a whole lobster for that price (it said a 2lb lobster but it wasn’t) I got a steak and eggs with rice and zucchini. My plate was 20$. All in all it’s a good place to eat.

Good Experience! Staff were very friendly although they seemed understaffed and swamped with orders, food took a while, the Picanha was great, but the Surf and Turf was noticbly overcooked and the Shimo Mozambique was kinda bland, the homemade chips were really good also.

All was well until I realized my rice was covered in hair! Im totally grossed out. Not to be dramatic but i wont even order rice now because i immediately lose my appetite unless i cook said rice. Even then its a struggle. Roce isnt the greatest for you so this maybe a small win for me but still shouldnt have experienced this!!! Im not sure why google won’t let me leave a photo? Theyee not attatched but i did submit quite a few from different areas of my rice. Freggin nasty!!! I am not joking when I say it looks like they spilt the whole bag of rice then swept it up off a nasty floor, potentially at a barbershop then cooked and fed it to people. I know it cant have just been my plate of food because my rice had it scattered all in it and through it. Anytime I have a tickle in my throat and ive ate out recently im now paranoid I have tiny hairs stuck in my throat. Gross hope none of you have to experience this….

The Royal NEVER disappoints…
Always leave full and happy!! Our waitress Veronica was super sweet and attentive and Bartender Debbie makes some great drinks! Definitely a place to visit when you’re in the city!
